embarrasing moments....

Hey good evening mylotters! I just wanted to share one of my experiences with you which was pretty embarrassing. During my summer holidays i didn't have much to do just sit around on net and chat or just play games all day. So my mom wanted me to learn cooking. i didn't want to learn cooking as that is all girls stuff that's what i thought at first. But my mom was stubborn and i finally gave in. She taught me how to make everything from rice to various curries so i learned pretty much in 3 weeks. Next week she invited over some friends of hers and their daughters also for dinner. She wanted them to see my cooking and rate it. So i spent two hours in the kitchen and made some pretty good food for them. Later after that they were all very pleased about my cooking and i got over confident and said that i would make some halwa(a sweet Indian snack). I set to work in the kitchen and after spending another hour i made and gave everyone halwa and told them that they should all eat it at the same time. No sooner had they taken the first bite all started running to the bathroom. I was wondering i was not such a bad cook was i? I wanted to check with my snack and saw that instead of adding some amount of sugar i added the same amount of salt! It was truly embarrassing for me as all my hard work had been wasted by a simple mistake. I apologized to all of them once again. All my food had gone down the drain and i was humiliated in front of my mother's friends' daughters. I have to admit they were cute! To this day whenever i move towards the kitchen mom asks me if i could make some more halwa for her... Have you ever had any embarrassing moments like these before? How did you react in such situations?

Must be very embarrassing for you. However, whatever happened, has already goe. This incident would make you more cautious and you wold be always watchful when you have to put sugar or salt. Just don't put sugar instaed of salt as it would destroy all your labour and would spoil the curry.

your story is funny, but i pity your embarrasment dear! If I was asked to cook, I would be in a similar situation, so I do understand. One embarrasing moment that I faced was that, once i was in tremendous hurry and i wore my jeans inside out.I realised it only when on the road, and it was pretty embarrasing.I could not even do anything about it.So i had to go around with that, flaunting it as if thats how it was made, to give you a different look!!

well, a new fashion .. you have enjoyed the thrill of wearing a jeans, in a new way!... how did you manage to fool your friends?.... and, do you really cook? .. our friend here is lucky to have his mother as his teacher.. for over 3 weeks, all summer. and, it is a small mistake, though, it caused much of an embarrassment. i would suggest to forget that, and laugh it off. as if Intentionally wanted to tease all the ladies.. one could easily bluff...

well i didn't get any ideas at that moment like you did ...honestly switching jeans is worse too... Ya that's what i meant even after three weeks of teaching i was humiliated!

though you still are pained seemingly, by the faux paus.. of switching salt for sugar.. I don't consider it to be embarrassing anymore. You HAVE outlived that and, now, it is fun... and, try to take this as an advantage position, and ask back the favors from all the friends. You will be invited and given a ROYAL feast, at all the mother's friends.. so, go ahead. make merry, and use the chance to find your friend.. if you are of the age of marriage, .. then, this could be your mom's plan to find a daughter-in-law for her.

lols. .. you will not be going to the kitchen, .. will not be allowed into it, even if you want to.. on your wedding day.... so, don't worry. and, tell us all, if there was any particular girl, who sympathized with your situation on that day. may be you exchanged mobile numbers.. may be ... may be...even more~

Oh dear, what a shame! Your story reminds me of one my mother told me about the time when they were kids they had visitors and her sister put salt in the coffee instead of sugar! I believe it had the same effect your mistake had on your guests! At least the rest of your cooking was a success!
