What an exhausted weeks for me. Hopefully the virus can get away and all my family members stay healthy. Two kids get sick one after another, sigh...
A fever isn't a disease. It's a symptom of an infection, typically caused by a cold or the flu. When you have a cold, for instance, your immune system signals to your brain that it needs more body heat in order to attack infectious cells, and your body temperature rises. After all these virus attack period I found out a good remedy how to get rid of fever. It’s very traditional way.
First of all take the fever medicine eg. Panadol, Paracetamol.
Then keep yourself warm with sweater / jacket / blanket. For children you may apply some Yu Yi oil to warm his / her body.
You will start sweating and this merely a way to cool the body down.
Wipe off the sweat to avoid get cold again. Meanwhile take plenty of plain water to prevent dehydration.
Continues the process - sweat / wipe / drink.
After an hour or two of this process, you can change your wet sweaty clothes. The fever might already go away after this.

Hi,
Hope you and your family are doing well now.
I hate the word of FEVER. Have a phobia with these fever sickness.
I still remembered clearly how my son was hospitalized due to high fever when he was 1.5 years old.It is the bad experience I ever had in my life.
I was so worried about him and I am so glad that in the bext 3 days, his fever is Gone and at last he can came back home.
Fever can be cause by several other sickness, like sore throat, diarrhea, flu, etc.
For most kids, fever is raised up by throat infection. Therefore, I encourage my son to drink plenty of water everyday. I also heat up Barley water for him everyday as his light snack.
I avoided him to eat biscuit and all those heaty food.
When our kid having a fever, they can sleep well at night.Keep rolling here and there. We as a parent for sure can't sleep well too.
Sometimes, even after medication, the fever will go for 3-4 hours, but after that it will come back again.
Almost every hour, have to monitor the body temperature.
I always standby Paracetamol syrup at home and also fever cool pad,in case for emergency uses.
If within the next 2 days, the fever still come back.then it is best for sick for medical advises. It is better not to delay further as fever can lead to other serious sickness.

shia88,
I can understand what you are going through as a parent when your child falls sick. However, I must encourage you to read and learn more in your spare time on how to manage sickness. Learn to be meticulous with your care and observation for telling signs of serious illnesses like fever's more serious cases e.g. dengue fever, German measles and etc..
Also, it will be good to have a clinical thermometer at home to help monitor body temperatures accurately, where it can accurately tell you what to do in an emergency too. If your child has a preexisting medical condition, then please do read more about it to understand the condition's management and emergency signs. This knowledge to me is so very important as it will come in very useful and nerve calming during emergencies where panicking will just make matters worse.
Take care and have a great day.

I am sorry to hear your family has been uncomfortable. Where I live it is hot and dry and very seldom do I hear of fever, although there is one kind of fever people can get near construction sites from something the dirt releases into the air. This kind of fever is "silent" for most people, but sometimes it destroys the immune system and people can die, as there is apparently no cure. This fever is called San Joaquin Valley Fever after the place where it is said to have originated. Fortunately, not many people get it.

Hi there, we are are clear , thanks for your wish. Perhaps I should say my kids aren't getting fever that often. As what I have observe, they get fever every few month or half a year time. So do advise our kids to drink more water, get enough of sleep and rest.
I never heard of this fever before. May I know where you are staying? Maybe I will goggle to search more information.

Hi, vingyan06. You are right. Sweating off an fever always seems to work. I have done this many of times when I had an fever. The fever goes away too. I know how tough it is to have two kids sick at the same time. It is rough and stressful, I understand. I hope that everyone in your home gets better. It is the same in my family as well. When one gets sick, the entire household can become sick too. I now what you are experiencing. Take care of yourself and your family.
