I am not sure if we really need religion in the form of worship to God or gods. Could the World be better off if there was and there is no religion. If every body only live to acquire scientific knowleges towards exploring the universe, to enjoy arts and music, to fight poverty to protect enviroment .........

Religions can be very dangerous if they are misinterpreted. Just think of terrorism nowadays, or of all those people killed in the past just because they were of a different religion than the one officially "accepted". But I don't believe we should ignore the whole "religion" stuff. I personally believe there is a god who created us all, the world, etc. I just don't want nor think I could give him a name or a face... or know what his really intents are. I just think there is a god, and that common beliefs of what is right and what is wrong COULD match with his intents.

Religion has become the most controversial subject today. This is becourse of the different ways it is been practiced today. it has become a force for more harm than good. But I think this is so cos religion is been abussed. Man is instinctively religious. even atheism is a form of religion. I believe in an Almighty God that is matchless in wisdom. The religious desire in man is for a purpose which should be for his good. Man can not know more than his maker. the world and allin it will surely be better if God is involved, if his will is taken into consideration. This surely includes his will in religious matters.

The world would be a much better place without ORGANIZED religion. Organized religion has been responsible for the majority of racism, bigotry, wars, murders, terrorist attacks, etc. for the past thousand or so years. A form of religion, however, helps people maintain a sense of control, and makes life easier to live. Simple spirituality can do wonders. But more wars have been started, more blood shed, in the name of "God" than for any other reason.

yes i agree with you .. religion is really a crutch for people . it is there so when something good happens they can be ignorant and say god did it and when something bad happens they have someone to blame it on (the devil) .. but rarely do they blame it on other things or themselves ... i think it messes with the mind and causes people to rely on books and things someone has told them instead of going out there and seeking their own truth no matter how far fetched it is. that is how the great scientists discover cures for diseases by looking beyond the norm and seeking other alternatives than what every has thought to be true.

What is the right path? Is yr right path based on yr religion and religious practices, religious values as you were told in yr religiou establishlment?
Is the right path is just not to do bad and evil things? The trouble is the religious etablishment can never satisfy with just simple right path. THey will want you to follow more "right path". THe religious establishment would want you to Put FAITH in their many Right Paths. Please continue discussion from here on.........

For some reason humans are caught up on reward/punishment systems, having a parental figureor just something larger than themselves to blame their frailties on, I don't really unsertand it either but it makes the quote "if God didnt exsist we'd have to invent him" make sense.Your idea reminds me of John Lennon's song "Imagine."

no one needs religion in their lives, all religions are based on lies and act only to answer the un answerable. There are things we will never know lets just accept that

may be on a personal level i dont need a religion.but this is something which is inherited by birth.it is not by choice.and by the time we grow up and realise what religion is we have already accepted it.religion is faith in God.and all religion teaches the same thing.so it's ok with me

Take it this way : Religion shows us the aim of life and not live as we want to. Religion shows us whats right and whats wrong else you have different references for different places. Religion instints fear in to us that prevents us from doing the wrong and evil

religion should be a set of faiths or values in which we should believe and should follow to the best of our ability..even god should be a faith and no more...yes i do think religion is necessary for our existence..bcoz it guides us in deciding wot is rt and wot is wrong...but when religion starts to demand things from us or when it wants to sacrifice our life for it in the name of worship of god it is bad for the world..when it starts to demand rituals..it is bad..when it misleads us to believe other religions r bad..then the religion is bad..
