Hi Jugs, I don't watch TV enough to get fed up with it but when I have turned iton there ha been a match, I don't mind the World Cup really but don't watch it any other time. TomorrowI need to go up the school 20 minutes early to either stay to watch football in the hall with my child or take them home early for the England match, my son wants to stay so it looks like I am watching for sure tomorrow lol. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi jugs, I am not a soccer fan either. However, I do like to see the highlights, as for me the rest of the game is boring, boring, with a lot of acting (swan dives) thrown in.Real football has body contact! Counting the days.

I am soooo glad that while here in Australia, soccer/football is big but it's not as big as say Rugby League or Aussie Rules football. We do hear about the world cup in the news & it's also being shown at unGodly hours of the night/morning & a couple of my friends talk about it but it's not as talked about

Hmm I'm guessing that you're talking about soccer?
I say that because here in the US football is a different sport and well it's not football season right now! Actually summer training is coming up in like a week to "kick off" the football season!

well in this country, there are some news about soccer but it is not the main news. Soccer or football is not really that big in this country.

ya your right but football seems to be getting a lot of craze now doesn't it? I don't like it much but i also don't hate it. It's good to have matches once in a while but i miss many other sports such as WWE. It's been long time since i saw that and these matches are taking away all the highlights also of other sports. I wish the world cup ends soon.

One of the best sporting events in the entire universe(right behind the monster truck rally on Uranus) just started us, and you are already tired of hearing about it?
I mean, they still have to eliminate a few more bad teams before the real fun is set to begin! Nobody is allowed to be tired of the spectacle till there are only 4 or so teams left in the tournament.
The only thing I tired of is all the flopping and theatrics that goes on whenever somebody gets touched, and those horns the South African fans blow on non stop. I watched a game this morning, and my ears are still ringing.
it sounds like bees are making love to my ear drums right now.

Well, here in the United States we actually call the sport soccer, but I know exactly what you mean. I'm lucky that my husband isn't a huge fan of sports because I know that if he was I would have had way more than enough of it by now. I do have to say, however, that there are situations on facebook that I've been getting a little bit tired about the banter concerning soccer because it seems that many of my friends have put their lives aside because of the World Cup.

Haha! Not a football fan then are ya?!
Here in north america, soccer or what is more commonly known as football is not considered a major sport. So it is pleasant change to have it shown everywhere. Well, for me at least.
Anyway, hang in there. It is almost done. I think.

You could always watch the tennis from Wimbledon!! I am into the World Cup now so I don't mind watching the matches and have seen almost all of them so far. I am supporting England of course and the African teams, so the results haven't been going my way so far, but I am still enjoying it.

Well, since I am not a sports fan, I have to agree in principal. I am also not a TV owner or watcher. I prefer to watch what I choose, when I choose and so watch all my shows online so I never get the commercials for the sporting events, much less the events themselves. That said, you could always do what I've done and stop watching the news or sports channels...or just stop watching TV or listening to radio, altogether. heehee
I can't believe how peaceful my life has become since I ditched the mass media venues. Peace, Jugs.

I am giving you company here, jugsy. Football leaves me cold and has never been my favourite sport. So while the rest of the world goes crazy over it, i care two hoots who wins or loses. In fact i don`t even know who is playing. I belong to a country which goes crazy over cricket and has a huge following and football has only a mini following. Except for a few news channels who cover the sport most people in my country will give you a blank stare if you try to discuss football with them.Even the national TV channel does not give coverage of football.

I only know of Manchester United no more no less....I'm really not into soccer but I do watch it when my friends watch it. I guess it sucks when you see every time on tv and in every channel, I just can't imagine having to see it everyday on tv

Well you're not the only one dear. I'm also kinda fed up with this game. and obviously my country is not included in Fifa so I kinda dont have much interest in it.
So dont worry there are ppl who are fed up with this game.

You are not the only person fed with football. Millions of people do not like or talk about football. The same goes with Cricket. Entire sub-continent is mad after game of Cricket so much so that emotion rises when a Cricket match India and Pakistan takes place.
However, worst thing on the TV is emotional dramas or serials wherein women are depicted as home-breakers.
However, I like both Football and Cricket particularly because both games are full of excitements.
