As another person said it depends what genres you enjoy reading. But I guess I'll take a shot in the dark! If you like fantasy any books by Anne McCaffery promise a good read. Especially the 'White Dragon' and the 'Dragon Riders of Pern', those are my favorites. Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Howl's Moving Castle. For more classic literature Sherlock Holmes. And I know they're meant for kids but I do love the original Nancy Drew series. That's all I have at the top of my head.

Thanks for the White Dragon suggestion. A friend of mine and I went through all 20 of Mercedes Lacky novels. Very light reading and great for the younger set. Very fun reading.

I've read the hobbit, and personally I hate it. I'm not into literature that much. I'm going to look up the white dragon. thanks for your help :]

I can think of a few good summer books The Time Travelers Wife, which is amazing at anytime of the year and I think it would be really good to read on a beach. Agnes And The Hit-man is another good book. I don't read chick lit but this is an exception. I would also recommend Julie And Romeo by Jeanne Ray and it's sequel Julie And Romeo Get Lucky. In this case the first one is better but there both good I hope you find some good summer reads. Excellent question.

It depends on what you like to read. I personally like Eat, Pray love. It is a pretty amazing book, but many books are a good read.

What genre do you enjoy reading? I just started reading James Patterson. His books are great. The chapters are short and get straight to the point, so it really holds my interest! I've also heard Dean Koontz is great too. I just bought one of his books but haven't read it yet. Some of my other favorite authors are Jane Green, Emily Griffin, Kate Pepper and I also enjoy the Twilight Saga.

Just a little heavy fr the beach but I enjoyed it. History mystery, Eifelheim by Michael Flynn. Bounces between the 1300's germany and the present. Lots of fun. As always it took a little for me to get to the second chapter and give it a chance..LOL. My personal problem with all books..

Ann Rule is a good author to check out. She writes short stories about true crime. She also writes longer novels, but the short stories tend to hold my attention better. "Smoke, Mirrors and Murder" is a good one.
