From recent news, and many warning against criminal activities, we have watch out our activities at the ATM machine. There was possibility that we were been watched. Criminals can install a duplicate device called "skimmer" at the ATM card slot to copy your metallic strip at the back of your card, and they could through spy cam installed somewhere in the ATM to steal your PIN number. Within minutes or so, they could duplicate a card work exactly like your ATM card and use it to launder all your money in your checking account. That is really dangerous. So, watch out what you doing at the ATM machine.

A potential criminal's best friend seems to be the ATM machine. Iy can be a devastating situation just waiting to happen. They can lurk in the shadows just waiitng for the right victim to come along. Try not to visit your ATM alone if you can help it. There is sagety in numbers.

Actually we have become very shy on this aspect. I have never seen people to object when another person is just standing behind him/her while using the ATM machine. It is ridiculous. We should be bold enough to prevent that person standing behind us. If required we can ask the ATM guard to do that.

Hi, swetashah. This is so crazy! And scary at that! Why would someone want to steal money like this? People just can't be trusted for anything at all! It is a shame that people can't go to the ATM Machine to get money without being invisibly robbed! I guess I will be going into the branch bank for my money. I hope that the criminal have not rigged the system in here to steal peoples money.

Hey, smart people always have a criminal mind, and they want something free and quick. That is one way to do it. So, best advise, try to shade your pin number when you punch the number in.

Emm... It seems that danger lies in everywhere. Nowadays, more and more various methods are being used to "steal" money from others, by tricks or by others... It's deadly horrible. Sigh, how could this happen? Well, it did.

Criminals are thinking very wisely to steal money. Thanks for this information and let me be careful the next time when I use an ATM. I think we should avoid ATM at the outskirts of the city limits where there will not be security at the full swing. Just use any ATM where it is guarded well.

Take some precautions, while using the ATM Machines. Firstly, do not allow anybody inside the ATM, when you are using the same. Secondly, while using the ATM machine, stand infront of the machine in such a way that even the cameras also can`t see your password. Thirdly, after your every use, press cancel on the panel. And last but the least is, always verify your account with your bank, and update your account regularly.

Thanks for the tip buddy. However, whatever they may do the law would catchup with them. The saddest part is not before you are already duped.

Thanks for the tip. But there are simpler modus here in the Philippines that are actively done by syndicates. We call them "Ruler Gang". They will put something adhesive in a plastic ruler (the measurement ruler that we use in school), and then they put the ruler deep in the whole where the cash is expected to come out. When a customer withdraw in that ATM machine, the account will be charge, but no cash will come out. The bills stick with the ruler. The person withdrawing, thinking it's a machine error, will then leave for the teller to complain, and then after leaving the machine, the bad guys will sneak into the machine and pick up the cash stacked with ruler. This happens during night time and in machines that are not safely guarded by security guards.

Hi, swetashah! This kind of device was reported in my country years ago. We have known that check ATMs before using is very important. Another kind of crime is put a pinhole camera above the keyboard of ATMs, and your motion of typing password will be recorded. So it's necessary to cover the keyboard when inputting password even if nobody around.
