Did someone say java here? heehee! Yes, java is a language, an object oriented one. Like pooja said it is also a type of drink. Java is also an island in Southeast Asia. Thanks.

you know when i was a kid people would refer to drinking coffee as having a cup of java or joe..sometimes they'd call it joe..anyway, i have not heard the term for many years. these days so many old terms are replaced by computer language. just like the mouse, used to be a small animal(still is) but most people think of it as computer mouse now could go on and on about this subject but think i'll stop here.

Java was concieved by james gosling and chris worth at Sun Microsystems,Inc. in 1991. It took 18months to develop the first working version.
This language was initially called "Oak," but was renamed Java in 1995.
Yes you are right, java means its a drink like coffe and tee

Java has many features like security, portability,object oriented, robust,simple and multithreaded.
Java is mainly used in .net applications and also used in applet design...
In india rural people called a drink as java also called as ghataka.

People use to refer to coffee as java. I don't hear it used like i use to.

Yes it is a slang word for coffee. Not too many people use the word, but those that do feel that they are creative. LOL
