What would happen of someone who is allergic to penicillin took it?

I have been allergic to penicillin since birth and every time I go to a hospital or clinic I have to say that I'm allergic to penicillin. As a child my parents told me that if I ever took penicillin I could die. Is this true? What would happen?

Whenever we go to a clinic and I need medication, my Mom would tell the nurse/dr that I am allergic to penicillin. I wouldn't know how to answer your question because I haven't tried taking them. But some allergic reactions are fatal so I would advise you not to try. Anyway, Welcome to myLot!
