boring

Life can last a long time. What is one thing you would truly dislike doing for work the rest of your life because its boring? Or what if hell would be doing the task you find most boring over and over and over? For some it would be laundry, or standing in line or jobs where you need to call insurance and go through aggravating menus and then being put on hold - only to have the other line ring and having to risk putting the ins. co on hold after waiting a little bit of forever....
What tasks that others consider boring do you actually enjoy doing? For instance, most people dislike data entry, but that has been my favourite part of many jobs - I would compete with myself to be faster and faster each day. Accuracy and speed are so important and its fun to challenge myself.

I was a telemarketer when I was seventeen. If I had to do that for the rest of my life, I'm not sure I would live long. I didn't mind people hanging up on me. But the name calling and cursing! I don't like telemarketers either, but I needed a job. After working at that job, I became a heck of a lot more patient with telemarketers. Although I do ask every time if one calls me to take my name off their list. It was boring too. Sit at the desk, try to tune out all the other people in the room...

I'm not sure about telemarketing but I really loved doing market research; political surveys, customer service follow up, developing warm leads - so much fun! Even the ones calling for an insurance company for teachers - the teachers were already members - we just had a loooong survey to make sure customers were happy etc.

To funny! Of all the inspiration for writing, scrubbing the floor is one I don't think I've heard. :) Want to come over my house for inspiration - I'm not as keen on my weekly floor washings.
