Mexico Officials have filed a brief in opposition to Arizona's new illegal immigration law set to begin July 29, 2010. Mexico seems to think that they have a stake in this because Mexican citizens like to vacation there. It will also hinder their ability to combat drug trafficking and violence.
Mexico Resident Felipe Calderon said this law will open a Pandoras Box of intolerance, hate and discrimination.
Wow
What do you think? In my opinion, Mexico has NO stake in Arizona's laws. Should the courts stop this legislation for the sake of peace with Mexico? Should Calderon worry about his own yard?

I have this all figure out. Calderon's stake in this is if we figure out which Mexicans are here illegally and send them all back at once his population will explode and he will have no where for them to go.
The fact of the matter is if a person from Mexico wants to come to the US and visit or get a job even, I have no problem with it, as long as they do it in the right manner. We have Visa's and passports for a reason and our laws should be respected and followed by all. This is not opening a Pandoras Box of intolerance, it is simply enforcing the laws that were already on the books. The immigration laws have been there a long time the problem is we have turned a blind eye to them for so long.

Laglen, your operative word there is 'ignoring'! So many things are going on where the law is being ignored. AND it's getting on the nerves of American citizens.
Yes, Calderon should be ignored, BUT---and that's a big but....not Obama. He is too compromising or wanting to extend the hand of compassion (if that's the right word) to those who do us dirty!

Why was Mexico even ALLOWED to enter into this legal fight? They are a foreign country. They should have NO SAY in our laws or our legal system. I don't like that they have been allowed to become involved.
You are right that Calderon has enough to worry about in his own country without trying to tell US how we should run ours. He needs to butt out NOW.

On what legal grounds ARE they using to allow Mexico into this law suit? I am serious. I am can not find a law stating a foreign country can get involved in a law suit of state law like this. Heck I can't find where it states a foreign country can get involved in a law suit like this AT ALL. Am I missing something? If anyone can find out how this is legal please let me know.

im not very sure but i think we get gas from mexico, but even then someone with balls in the oval office should tell mexico to take care of their own and stop sending us their problems, this has been going on for to long with too many presidents. ive been to mexico a few times 15 -20 years ago and back then armed military weren't on every corner of the blocks, when they started i stopped going, if i want heat i'll stay in florida, less problems less toilet time.

Mexico should just shut up. This is not their country! Tell ya what: we'll stop protecting our borders when they stop protecting theirs. THEIR border laws are far more strict than ours!

Since so much of Mexico's income comes from illegal activities in Arizona and the other border states, of course they have a problem with Arizona's immigration law. Mexico would never tolerate illegals in their country taking work from their citizens, receiving government benefits without paying into the system, conducting illegal activities, etc., but they think we should and call us intolerant, hateful and discriminative because we're tired of Mexicans believing they have a right to ignore our laws. Of course, who can blame them for feeling that way when our government has been allowing this illegal activity for years?

Calderon has no right to even speak about AZ laws. He should tend to the needs of his own "house". Were it not for BHO, illegal alien, sitting in the office of president illegally, Calderon might understand that his responsibility is to his own "house" only. It never was and never will be ours. "A man who does not provide for his own "house" is worse than a heathen.

he should worry about his own yard.
i'm confused about his stand on somethings.you'd think he'd want people staying there and spending money there instead of bringing it here.
