I feel most love marriages don't survive that long....!!

Well its not to be blamed on marriages, its people loosing their preseverance and meaning of life

Hi there, I agree that a lot of marriages are short term for various complex reasons, though often there are patterns emerging in the 21st century in which people are learning to become more independent than ever before. I don't believe it's because of added pressures from jobs and trivial things like this when couples kept their marriages alive in the past even during the war, so the recent high-divorce rates must be blamed on something else entirely. Personally, I am of the opinion that too much emphasis is placed upon individual identity and because of increasing gender role change, such as stay at home dads, unequal distribution of skilled jobs all contribute to the dilemma. Few people are certain of who or what they are meant to be in such a complex society, politicians always promote the ideal of a family unit yet never discuss how it might be for people who are faced with a different dilemma. The one great thing about how easy it is to divorce for some couples is that they can escape violent or unhappy lives, but it also sets a benchmark for those who just need to work that bit harder to keep their relationship going but choose not to. You would think that the amount of personal freedom we each have, we can learn to embrace it but not exploit it to unnecessary means. I really don't think anyone wants to end up alone, but because of how acceptable it is to be single, people are inclined to adjust to that lifestyle simply because it is far easier or if they have experienced painful separations, abuse etc, their reasons we can understand far more than those who just want the excitement of a big day only to abandon it once life-long commitment is involved.

maybe because the foundation is not JESUS but they themselves :) any relationship not founded on Him is bound to be broken. :(
