The serpent told eve to eat and they wouldn't die, that they would possess the knowledge of good and evil and become like God. And when they ate they didn't die. They possessed the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 3:22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"-- 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. They were gonna die anyways unless they ate of the tree of life like it is said.here: "And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever." So they were gonna die, unless they ate from the tree of life. thats why he drove them out so they wouldn't live forever. So did the serpent lie?

The serpent is a liar and father of lies. When God told them that if they ate the forbidden fruit that they would die, but God did not say they will die right away. The reason why they were driven away from the garden is because the tree of life has the power or the ingredients to strengthen their DNA to live forever.

did you read the good book .. VERONICA wants to die? .. by Paulo Coelho? there is it discussed, .. if GOD and, the SERPENT were to be brought to court, in any of the countries of the present day world, and prosecuted under ANY of the laws, in this particular APPLE, and, Adam, Eve ---- there would be very many questions to GOD first. 1. Why did he not put a WARNING sign at the apple-tree. 2. If it is a forbidden fruit, why is it in the middle of the garden. 3. What measures had GOD initiated to ensure that the inmates of the garden are not induced to consume that? 4. .. If the Adam, Eve committed the error, has GOD given them a chance to explain? ... etc..etc. --------------------- I am just quoting from the BOOK. -----------

Hi consultrainer! I want to make some comments on the points you listed: 1) The Bible does not state what the fruit was. Both Adam and Eve were told about the consequences of eating the fruit. The fact that Eve related the consequences of eating that fruit to the serpents (Satan the Devil) shows that they knew what God said. God was not trying to trick them. He wanted obedience to his laws. 2) It was to test their obedience. God had given them so much but would they be obedient? Look at the world we live in to see the results of disobedience to God's laws. 3) He gave them a warning and told them the consequences of breaking the law. They could eat from all the other trees to their satisfaction. 4) He did give them a chance to explain. Read the whole chapter. He asked them about what they had done. There was no apology. Each blamed someone else for what they had done. I know you are only quoting the book. I am just bringing out all the facts.

In the bible, explained as follows: * God speaks to them directly. God forbid they ate the fruit from one tree. * Eve was walking too close to the forbidden tree and then serpent tease Eve. * "Does God says?" And "Sure you will not die." Snake lying. So, based on the story, indeed the truth, the serpent had been lying and fooled Eve, that's why the serpent was cursed by God to walk with the abdomen and was expelled from paradise

The serpent deceived Adam and Eve into believing they would become wise like God if they ate the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden. When they chose to eat the fruit, the die was cast. They chose evil over good and became separated from God. God cannot look on evil, therefore, there had to be a perfect sacrifice to redeem man in order to bring him back to the God who loves him. That sacrifice was Jesus the Christ. He is our redemption.

In my understanding, before Eve was fooled by the serpent, the couple (Adam and Eve) have easy access to the Tree of Life. There were two significant trees there: Tree of Life, and Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Don't interchange the two. They are different from each other. Reading your paragraphs above, I have noticed you said "they were gonna die anyway" if they stop eating the fruits of the Tree of Life. As I have said, they have an access to the Tree of Life, and they were only banned from eating the fruit of the tree of Life when they committed the sin. If they did not commit sin, if they did not fell into the trap of the serpent, they will have continuing access to the Tree of Life and the result will be they will live forever. They will not die. So you see? The serpent was a liar. He fooled Eve. He tricked her into eating the forbidden fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
