How to save money on wedding?

How can a bride on budget save money? I read a blog, it said we can DIY something? Such as wedding favors,ring pillow and wedding invitations? How to find the source? And what's your idea on saveing money?

I helped my daughter with her wedding; the entire wedding was under $4000. When my husband and I had our vow renewal wedding, it came in at under $5000 and we even paid for all of attendants' dresses and suits! my advice is to hit your local library and see if they have books on putting together a wedding on a budget. i know mine does and they are in the craft section.

In our town, couples who are planning to get married ask my mom to become their principal sponsor. Some of them do this because my mom knows how to arrange flowers. So usually her gift to the couple would be their wedding flowers.
