I would be poor and happy, if your happy, you want to work for stuff that many unhappy people don't. People say money is the key to happiness, yet many rich people aren't so happy and appreciated. Justin Bieber is being hated by many people on youtube. Tiger woods is being hated for many things also.
Usually people who are rich are famous, so if they make a mistake, their reconized by the world as a bad influence.
Tell me what you think?

Hi friend,
Let me first tell you happiness has got nothing to do with financial status, and i do not believe that money is key to happiness.
Key to happiness is within you, your mind, the way you look at things and the way you treat others.
I agree with you that famous people's actions are watched by media and public in general and influence masses a lot. However its not that only reach people are famous. you will find many people are famous even if they do not have much money.

not entirely, happiness is subjective..some are happy if they can afford all they want..money can provide security and peace of mind which are essential in finding ones happiness..
money is not the key, but an essential part..why do you think we all bother to work hard and attain great success financially?

We work hard and strive for financial security becasue we feel that financial security will give us happiness, that does not happen all the time. A financially secured person suffering from Cancer, BP or Diabetes or any other major illness can he be happy really?
When too much money comes how handle them creates stress and reduces happiness. Are we not always worried as to how to save tax? some are worried as to how to hide black money and be safe from tax authority? My friend the more money does not alway mean more happiness.

well i think that being rich has nothing to do with being happy. You will be happy even if you are poor. And there's no guarantee that rich people are always happy. One reason is that they can't be seen in public places. Their privacy won't be respected in public places. They brought it upon themselves. But being whom you are and making others around you happy by what you do i believe is the real key to happiness. That way even you can be happy.

huh I don't have much money~but it is ok for me~maybe i m not that money rusher. It depends, whether rich people unhappy or poor people happy~Some people use money to be the symbol of their status~ how much money do you have could be seems as rich? For me~~you could buy what U need is ok~~as for those luxury~ that is no end~~ wish U happy~~~

hello. I don't think that having lots of money comes with happiness. Those two things aren't always inside the same package. What I can tell you is this, happiness does not have anything to do with riches or fame. If you know in your heart that you love what you are doing, you feel content of what you have and appreciate the blessings that come to you, you will surely be happy.

being poor and happy is a difficult thing to do believe me..we came from a poor family and i am poor as far as i can remember..money is an essential part for attaining happiness, remember that basic needs are important to attain harmony and happiness towards life.
yes, we can be happy in littles ways, but total happiness? nah..how can you be happy if you are so worried about life..about where to get the next meal, when someone gets sick..money can provide peace of mind,.
happiness is subjective and differ in meaning to individual,.

I would also definitely choose being poor and happy. The main goal of life should be happiness. If you had all the money in the world and you're not happy, what is the point? Still, even though there are many rich people like Paris Hilton and Tiger Woods who are bad influences, I think there are some good rich people too. There is Bill Gates who gives a lot to charity and Simon Cowell who helps a lot of people achieve their dreams.

I would like to be rather poor and happy because even if you are rich but are unhappy, then that's not healthy living and you won't be able to get satisfaction or peace at mind. Being happy even that means when we are poor, would give us that strength and joyness in whatever work we choose to do and we would be able to work through all the stress of the work easily which gives way for richness to come to life now or later at some stage. Being happy is more important than being richer or each and everyday, one would wake up to fight his own demons and just do nothing but struggle through his life!!

Being happy is not measured to what ever you have. You can say you are happy when you are contented to what you have.Yes to tell you most of the rich people are not happy, you will ask why?because many rich people are not successful in terms of family. Many of them are brokenhome. While sometimes in poor people you will see in them that they are happy because they are just contented to what they have.

I really don't understand why you should be unhappy if you are rich. I guess it boils down to your upbringing, morals and values. I guess the issue of happiness has more dimensions and factors besides financial status and wealth. Faith is a prominent factor in one's well-being and happiness. Hence, I think if you have the right balance of happiness recipe, then why not be rich and happy?

I just wanna be different from the rest; so my answer is I WANNA BE RICH and UNHAPPY. All of you are free to react.
My current social status is neither poor or rich. I'm in between and I'm happy. But I just can't deny the fact that I wanna be rich or richer.? I think all of us wants to. We are all driven by that prime motivator, money. Regardless of how I'll get to that level/status, I'd surely say I'll do everything to reach it. If and if I'll get rich, why would I be unhappy if I did my all just as long as I didn't step on somebody else? It's either I'm being selfish or I'm just speaking out for the real truth about what I want in life. =)
P.S: I truly believe that regardless of what social status a person is at, he/she can manage to be happy either way. That's about it. Happy mylotting to you as well.

Good discussion - I like it-.A person can really-be happy if he is contended with what he has.But because of our more desires we are shutting the doors of happiness, which results us to work hard and despite of this initiative we are not fulfilled. Of course money plays an important part to live but not the end of happiness.
Poor people are more happy and contended than rich people.

Why does one wants to be rich? Because they think that having the money would make them happy. Bottomline, people just don't want to be rich just to get rich...they want to be rich to be happy. Therefore, happiness, irregardless of how much do you have in your pockets, is all that matters after all. Right?

Been married 22 years we are poor but I couldnt be any happier !
I like to think money is the root of all evil... Our lives are packed full of
memories that cost little to nothing... You just have to be creative... I think if we was wealthy we would of missed out on all the things we have had to do to entertain ourselves ( sad thought )
