i bet we all have stories like this. you were bidding on something, an item that you really wanted and at the last minute, someone sniped you and you lost it.
what was the item? for me, it was a one of a kind vintage piece of jewellry. how about you?

Oh, I have tons of stories like that! Especially since it took me a while to come up with a good strategy for actually winning auctions when I first started using Ebay. But I prefer not to think about those items too much, it is just depressing. So I try to find new great bargains instead!

Thanks Puccagirl, everything crossed on this one, I like you when was verynew lost all auctions but if it is something I really want now I tend to watch and then place bidding towards the end and in last 30 seconds place the higgest I am prepared to go up too and have the attitude of ifit is meant I will get it. Think of the money wehave saved not winning lol :)

Haha, good point! If one wins all auctions you bid one, you have to pay more, so it is not really something to mourn too much, unless it is something really, really special we are talking about. You are right!

Hi Cher, This is very apt because at present I am biddingon a dress that I have fallen in love with to wear for my daughters gradution next month. I lost an identical one a couple of days ago, I was the highest bidder, the doorbell rang I forget to check and got pipped at the post, this one I will bewatchingin those final seconds and because I love it so much may evev pay over the top but itis in a style that I know will suit me, I have shoes that will match and also the jewellery to go with too so fingers crossed for methat I win this one please. Huggles. Ellie :D

My husband and I are usually the ones who come in during the last 20 seconds of an auction and outbid the other bidders. We deal in motorcycles, parts and accessories. Sometimes there's a lot of competition so we watch the item until there's around 30 seconds left and put in a bid. We did lose a nice motorcycle once to someone who probably came in 2 seconds after we did.

Hi cher! I have lost out on a few items of jewelry on bidz.com!
But, it serves me right because I shouldn't be bidding on any
more jewelry to begin with! I can't stop myself sometimes!
And I get upset when I lose and sometimes I don't even know
why I'm bidding on the item because I have plenty of jewelry
already!

I have bid many times and it happens to me many times also that at the last 3 seconds someone else take away the item from me, it was a touchscreen Mp4 16GB I really wanted the item as I had promised my boyfriend already and now I am biding in a similar item, I hope I get it.

I always place my MAX bid.. meaning the price I absolutely will not go over..
I have not had the one that got away story as of yet... If it went for more then i was really willing to pay for then it dont feel like a loss.... Best of luck to you all on your auctions !!
