Do you think you are a lazy person? I know at times that I procrastinate, and, in my personal life put things off that ought be done. However, when at work, I would always do things that needed attention, whereas others would pass off difficult chores. Do you procrastinate, are you lazy, or do you do jobs and chores as soon as they arise?

I am very lazy, ask anyone in my family. I procrastinate more than anyone should, and I am often too lazy to do anything about it. Meanwhile, my guitar is downstairs. I went downstairs to get it yesterday so I could practice, and ended up being too lazy to bring it upstairs, haha! If something is important though, I will most likely do it immediately. Guitar Lessons this week is pretty easy, if it was challenging I probably would be practicing like mad right now. :]

You sound like you enjoy just doing nothing! Do you enjoy playing the guitar?

I admit it, I'm lazy half of the time but I will do my work. If I can, I will put things off until the last minute. But I also like doing things on my time. When doing my chores or whatnot, I hate doing it when people tell me to do it. However, if I remind myself to do it, I'll do it right then and there.
My good friend procrastinates a lot, though. She'll make lists of all the things that she should be doing yet that's as far as she'll go most of the time. Her list is now half a notebook long. lol.

It must be human nature to put things off until the last minute. To do lists are a good idea, however the first entry on mine was always, "ckeck yesterday's list!"

Generally speaking, I'd have to say that no, I'm not a lazy person. I don't like being lazy all the time anyway. However, there are days when I am a little lazy, especially after a very busy period. There are just days when I'm really tired and I just need a rest and to be lazy for a day or an afternoon or just for a short period of time. So, it really depends on the day and the mood that I'm in.

I think your response would sum up most of us. We have our days, but mostly we get things done.

I won't say I'm a lazy person but sometimes I like to take a break from doing things. I usually only procrastinate on things that I don't like to do.

Those are the times I have to give myself a 'rocket' and get myself off my rear end.

Hi Professor, thanks for sharing. Actually, as I am getting older, I am finding it easier to motivate myself. I don't procrastinate as much as I used to. This seems to go against the trend. Mike.

Hi mip!
I think being a lazy person and being a person who procrastinate, both are different. Being lazy may not be dangerous, however, am sure procrastination could be fatal. I do not procrastinate my tasks, to the best of my ability. However, on holidays, I tend to become a bit lazy and laziness takes over me on a lazy Sunday afternoon, when I love to sleep and sleep.

It’s interesting because anyone who knows me would say that I am a hard worker, up before dawn every day, the housework up to date etc and I do those things very early in the morning so that they are done and out of the way so that I can enjoy the day by going back to bed or doing whatever I like so I have to wonder if that is not a form of laziness...The only place I know for sure I wasn’t slothful was on the job, I am proud to say there was no procrastinating going on there...

I would not say that i am a lazy person at all. I have cleaned my cousins two story house this week while she is on vacation. I do work full time and then i was coming home then going over there to clean and help her out while she was gone and i guess be a nice cousin LOL.
When there are dishes in the sink it kinda bugs me so it has to be done right away and then the laundry i do through out the week so im not wasting my time on the weekend doing it. I do not put the laundry away right away because i just don't like the chore but i do like to clean. The house i live in gets cleaned every 2 weeks and that is not just surface cleaning but moving furniture and cleaning behind things and getting all he dust out of the house since i have bad allergies.
I am also not lazy at work this week had been hard as i have not been sleeping much but i do know i have done alot as i have probably around 500 stuffed envelopes ready to go out. Everything in those stuffed enveloped is wrote by me and also cut.

Wow! I'm getting tired just reading how busy you are. I am a pensioner, and had to get a job volunteering, just to keep myself occupied, so I can't be too lazy.

I think myself as quite a diligent person, however there will be still some times that i'll feel lazy to do my tasks also. Perhaps this is just 'mood-induce' phenomena, haha. What we need to do is just try to remind ourselves, after resting we will have to back to work and get it done. Self motivation or self discipline is playing important roles. :)

I don't always need to be doing something. I do not consider myself to be a lazy person. No one has ever accused me of this. I don't like tp put things off to the last minute. Just because I may not be active at the time, my mind is still working on what to do next.

Definitely I am a lazy person. I use to stay in the bed in the morning and think: I will stay a few minutes.... And also i like to have a break one my tasks... but i also worked without break and holiday some years.

Sometimes, I think I am lazy. I would put off certain important tasks but coming back to it. It's sometimes so easy to give in to laziness, but at the end of the day, when everything starts to daunt on me, then I'll panic, lol. But it is good to be organized and have a list of things to do and etc.

Maybe sometimes in some aspects.Casually I am just too tired to tidy my room at once, then my parents will condemn my laziness after cleaning it.How innocent I am! But I focus my concentration on my work so that I don't think I am lazy in this area.

i get lazy when i see tons of clothes in the laundry bin, when there is a mountain of dishes to be wash and when my child's toys are all over the house
no choice...i have to do all of them and set aside the laziness in me.
