I think the only social network that pays without you having to spend so much time in it is peoplestring.com. You only have to login 2x a day, 10 to 15 minutes each time to earn people points and this points will be the basis of your revenue share, it's an indicator of how active you are in the site.
You must have at least 100 points to qualify for the monthly revenue share, and earning points is very easy since you can earn 200 points in one day. They credit your PS account every 3rd week of the month, Minimum payout is $25 payable thru AlertPay. I friend of mine there is already earning around $30 a month and this is not because of referrals, it's only by just being active.
Other social networking that pays is MyPage5.com and daceband.com.

They are both a waste of time Peoplestring is very slow indeed and geo string you have to get to $100 before you can withdraw and you will need approx 10,000 people in your line before that happens complete waste of time.
The best social networking site is http://swom.com/?r=39652 its a free site but you can upgrade to earn money there if you want, you can post your links on your profile and you get points everytime you chat plus you get bonus points at random its the best social networking site I have come across so far, sign up and check it out for free then decide later if you want to upgrade or not.

I do not know much about social network that pays.
But why don't become more active in my lot. Even my lot is a social network and it pays!!!
