Do you keep your movie tickets?

Dear mylotters, I think in general we're all still buying tickets in the box office and receive tickets as the receipt right? In my country the theater officer will stand in front of each cinema entrance door and tear small part of the ticket (it has teardown mark) so the audience will still hold parts of the ticket. Are you still keeping it once you finished watching the movie? Or do you even collect it? I'm still keeping all my movie tickets until now, it's just to keep my memory of watching a movie and maybe in the future I can show my grandchildren my collection of tickets and recollect great movies that I saw. How about you?

hey thats a nice habit there, i would like to try that so i could have memories of the movies i have watched at the cinema, and so that i wouldnt FORGET what i have watched at the cinema. can you believe it? and yes honestly, i do forget that i have watched a show and it suddenly seems new to me, haha! but then, the tickets we have here are taken and not torn part off when we enter the cinemas. if we wanted to get out for urgent issues and to return, we would just have to be stamped before going out.

haha usually I remember all movies that I saw, the most is probably the one that either a very good one or it's just a bad movie. Oh, where do you live? Seeing this discussion, I think in most countries tickets are ripped and not taken by the cinema officer. It would be funny if we go anywhere after watching cinemas that our hands got stamped. We only do that when we enter amusement park. Thanks for the response!

Im living in the Philippines. Yes, tickets are ripped but they are ripped after the officers take it from us and then drop it in a transparent dropbox. I think these routine differs depending on which mall you are in. About that hand stamping, i know it sounds ridiculous and i know it is usually on don ein amusement park but hey, its true! I tried it once because i needed to urgently meet someone outside and and i wasn't done with my movie. It would have been a waste so i asked the officers for a solution with my situation and...they stamped me!

oh cool, so you can watch the rest of the movie at anytime during the day right? actually it opens an opportunity to us to cheat right? We can watch another movie in the same theater, unless each studio has different kind of stamp hehe, so they cannot enter another studio

I used to do that and I paste them in the calendar book so I can know which are the days I have gone to see a movie. Now I don't go so often to the movies and have been lazy to keep the movie studs. You can put the studs in a name card holder for your grandchildren.

You can also start a scrap book for it. Make it into a decoration. :)

I used to save movie tickets too! I had a collection of tickets from movies I saw, and also from music concerts I went to.
Sadly when I moved home I couldn't keep them. Maybe I will start a new collection?

haha, yeah if it is music concerts, especially because I watch concert only if I am a big fan of the artist and the ticket is much more expensive than movie tickets, of course I will keep the tickets. It might be the only chance i would catch their performance and I will keep it in my memories forever

Each time i go to cinema, i always keep the tickets. Since a long time ago, i always want to have something to collect. But to buy something as collection, that would spend much money. So one day i went to cinema, i got this idea to collect the tickets. And then after i collect some tickets, i realize that this could be a great collection, because these tickets hold the memories when i watched a movie too. And like what u said maybe in the future i will show them to my grandchildren and tell them about the movie and the story when i watched it.

cool! yes, the moment itself can be very special, that's why we collect the tickets. I also will keep the ticket because of fond memories watching the movie especially if the movie is really really good and can list that as one of the best movies I watched in my life, like Benjamin Button and Dark Knight two years ago. I watched them like two times at the cinema and still keeping the tickets.

That's because i was a kid then and i liked the movie so much that i kept the ticket with me for a couple of months but then i lost it. I never keep tickets much i don't know why . Everything i have is usally lost somewhere or other as i am extremely careless...

I only keep the important ones. Dates with my girlfriend, important films to me, important films from with other friends and what not. I don't collect tickets. This is good, because I don't need another thing to collect dust.

Yes I keep all my ticket stubs. It helps to keep track what films I saw in the theater.

[b}IF[/b] I were better organized, I'd be doing scrapbook pages with them. I do keep them, but soon they are lost in my mess.
I would love to put a pix, either from a movie advert or one I've done myself and the ticket stub and maybe a little note about who I went with and stuff.

I do not have a single cinema tickets , if its a night show, I will keep the ticket till the time I reach home for the reason if police asks me that why I am roaming that late in the city and I can show them proof otherwise I throw the tickets after comin out from cinema hall. I never collect tickets, all good and bad memories are in my heart and that comes out time to time.
Good to know that you have this hobby of collecting movie tickets

It's not actually a hobby since I don't have certain spots to keep them, usually I just throw them away on my drawer without keeping it in one scrapbook. Anyway, I never heard such reason to keep your cinema ticket hehe, the police in your country must be quite often doing roaming. Thanks for the response, have a great weekend!

I still affectionately have a couple of my tickets. My First "Pirates of the Caribbean" ticket I still hold for example. I hold that because that's when a friend of mine left without saying goodbye.

Well I dont actually collect such movie tickets. I keep them with myself until i'm in the theatre and throw them off the moment I come out. It is because I dont wanna let my parents to know that I went for a movie. So keeping tickets may leak my secrets. hence I prefer not to collect any.

That is such a nice idea! I hope your grandchildren will love this idea (I am sure they will!) I don't save my tickets, mostly because I never saw a reason to. But maybe I should start now, after having read this, we will see!

When I was younger, I had a scrapbook that I used to keep my movie ticket stubs in. I don't save them now as often as I used to. I only save them now if there was a special occasion for the movie or if it was a movie I really enjoyed. Sometimes I wish i had saved all my ticket stubs. It would be interesting to see how big my collection would be by now.
