Christmas to Catholics or Christians is a very important event, because it is the Birth of Christ, but if you check the Bible ,i think no date is written, this teachings i think conflicts the Bible, and who ever delete or add verses from the Bible is against God's will,we all know that this date was calculated many years ago by great astronomers by studying locations of stars etc..and up to this days mostly Christians believe in this Birth date...i know there are lots of Brainy MyLotters out there!Express your opinions...Who created this Date and Why?Is this against the teachings of the Bible or not?

Yes, it is not written in the bible. I think that believers and followers of Christ in the later years just wanted to celebrate his birth, and since they didn't know the exact date when Jesus was born then they just chose a date, and that date was December 25.

you know i find it almost impossible to celebrate my birthday the same day every year and i have proper documentation saying that is the day i was born, but for some reason people still make me work on that day. or worse yet, make my friends work! sometimes none of us can get our schedules to match to even celebrate it till the following month!
i dont think the believing the date is the exact day is the important thing here, i think its the fact that the world stops to celebrate it together, thats what stands out to me. Christians and non Christians alike, if its celebrated theres presents. sounds like a birthday party to me!

I guess December 25 is just a celebration of Jesus' birth. Since we don't have an exact date on when Jesus was born, I guess it's only sound to celebrate it at a date agreed upon. Unless you have a better idea..

No its not against the teaching of the Bible.. December 25 is not really the exact date when Christ was born. They considered many factors when they chose the date, one of it is the weather. Of course, It's important to give a date so that people will remember when Christ was born. Also, this date gave way to Christmas Season which is a very joyful season. Also, they didn't add verses in the bible saying that December 25 is the date. :))

Some religion don't consider that date, so they did not encourage followers to believe in it, some don't believe x-mas but they celebrate , some makes x-mas as a promo or commercial sign to a business, just like in other countries, some just don't believe it, but why Catholics teach that the b-day of Jesus is December 25...well better to respect their opinions to avoid conflicts here, I'm just asking?thanks!
