I don't know what they called it in China but in the Philippines we call it Siomai. I really love this chinese food. I've tried other Siomai in the street but there is no other than Siomai House so far, the soy sauce, garlic and calamnsi really blend together. Do you love siomai too?

Few years ago when siomai is not that popular in the Philippines, my good friend bought one in the mall and she says that siomai is her favorite. When I tasted it I don't taste something different, maybe I just don't like it with bagoong. Now I tasted one with special soy sauce and it taste really yummy.

In Indonesia called siomay, I really like the Siomay. It feels very nice, I like to eat siomay in warm and spicy. When I was a school, I often buy siomay. Now I rarely eat siomay. I so wanted to eat siomay today. Because of your discussion I so wanted to eat siomay.

well i also like these things but i wonder why we only get 2 - 3 varieties often. in the world there are a lot of varieties to choose from. there are some that are made of shrimp that i find it hard to look for in the philippines.

There are shrimp flavor (if that is what you called available) anywhere in the Philippines, you can find it in the stall of Siomai House, Master Siomai or anywhere in the mall. There even crab flavor who really taste like crab.

Hi Laniekins!.
I love siomay very much. Its really popular food here we can always find it every where. You can buy it in the street or in restaurant with difference taste and price.
My favorite siomay is from restaurant called Yeye, you can taste the fish taste and they use fresh fish so you can have fresh siomai all the time.

I like the pork better than fish flavor, we have a local version of siomai at the street but you cannot taste the flavor cause its so cheap.

I don't know since I am not that health conscious. I think I can eat more of that but I am not a regular eater. I only buy if I feel like eating one.

Yes I also love siomai. There's a place in UP Diliman that sells cheap but really yuummy siomai. Its now one of my favorite place to hangout. Just stay there and dig in. Siomai of chowking is also good but its kinda expensive. And I forgot their name but they are mostly located in MRT stations. I also love their siomai.

True, chowking siomai is quite expensive than other, I'd rather like soy sauce type than bagoong.
