I actually don't put my cellphone anywhere near my pillow. I'm afraid I'll break it while I sleep because I toss and turn a lot. Instead, I put it on my nightstand. The only problem is that I have it set to both vibrate and ring tone, so when it rings, it sometimes falls off my nightstand and onto the floor. So then, I have to blindly grope for it in the darkness. What a pain!

I would definitely prefer to sleep without my cellphone besides me because it is a known fact that they emit a field of radiation that could be injurious to the health and well-being. It may not show up as anything for years, but time goes by quickly and I wouldn't want to find myself with some awful disease because of being in close proximity to my phone. I rarely hold it to my ear either, because I use it mostly for text. _Derek

Yeah, i put it away too. if we can get radiation from too much use of computer, then what's gonna stop us from getting more in the Mobile phone

Hi amyson, great to see you around once again..
I can't do it.. I always sleep with my cellphone beside me too. I use it for the alarm, although I am aware of radiation which might be emitted from it..
I make it a point to place my cellphone slightly farther away from me, but still on the bed.

No when I had a cellphone it was usually on my nightstand. Having the phone on and near you that close is definitely not good for you. I gave up the cellphone after two years due to getting bad pains in my head on the side that I usually used the phone. I heard about a guy who ended up with a brain tumor and it was on the same side of the head that he used his phone. So with that I decided its not worth having a cell phone. If I were you I would not sleep with the phone next to you. Your body could be getting to much radiation over a period of time.

Personally speaking, I'm used to putting the cellphone besides me when I sleep. I need it to wake me up in the morning. Before I sleep, I often set the cellphone to offline mode so that the radiation is not a problem. Every morning as soon as I wake up, I always set the cellphone back to standard mode, then I could see the latest news and weather prediction on it.

nope i need my cellphone beside me. I love it a lot. It always keeps me happy. I take it with me wherever i go and it keeps me satisfied always. I don't think anyone can stay in bed without a cell phone and i wouldn't be able to do that...

I do not sleep with my cellphone beside me on my bed. I think that is unnecessary and unwise. I leave it on the desk in the living room and if there is any emergency calls I still would hear the ringing and answer it. Yes the more sophiscated the phone, the greater the radiation it emits, so who on earth would want to showered with radiation while asleep? As for alarm, I would rather use the old faithful alarm clock that does not give off any radiation.

I usually keep my mobile phone away from me when I am sleeping. I easily get distracted with it and I find it hard to sleep when there is a distraction. So when I am about to sleep, I usually put the phone on silent mode so that it can still receive messages and record missed calls but not distract me when I am already sleeping.

Hello. I always make it a point to put my phone away while sleeping. Other than the effect of radiation, I feel like it's easier to sleep if my phone is away because I know that I don't need to feel tempted to check on my phone and oblige to answer to any SMS messages that I received just when I'm about to sleep.

I`m doing preet ymuch like you do, but i`m having 2 cellphone that i`m carring with me almost every day. When i go to sleep, i take just one with me and set the alarm. But, i`ve made a test and all i can say it`s that without any cellphone near me turned on, i slept so good, like a baby. When i waked up, i was amaised, because i`ve slept just 7 hours, and it was like i`ve slept days . I was so full of energy and ready to do anything.

Ya i do sleep with my mobile by my side. Once I put my mobile on charge at night and missed the alarm. I woke up late the next day and was lat for work. Everyday I put alarm in my mobile so that I can wake up at time the next day. Even during weekends I use it for alarm as My daughter goes to tuition and I has to prepare her on time.

Well I also have the same habbit of sleeping with my cellphone. And my girlfriend is really jealous with my cellphone :) lolzz..
Well I love to listen to music before i fall asleep so I just use my cell for it.
Moreover I too use it for setting alarms and reminders.
But to escape from its harmful effects, I do switch it off before sleeping and then sleep with it.

Unlike you, I can't sleep without my cellphone beside me for a different reason. I want it to be there if something happens and someone calls me for an emergency. I want to be woken up and told of what is happening. I don't use my cellphone as an alarm clock. I use my stereo for that.

well.. I don't usually sleep with my phone beside me after i heard the news about the harm of the radiation that cellphones gives out .
Although the harm is just a tiny , it's better to be safe. Well, even if there's a message or phone call through the night , i'll be asleep and unable to take it too , so what for keep the phone beside me ? :)

I have no problem with sleeping next to my phone but it doesn't wake me up, as the alarm doesn't seem to effect me. No alarms generally work for me and so I prefer to wake up naturally. If I need to get up for work early, usually my wife's up first and she comes and wakes me.
Often I have my phone beside me when I go to bed, as I need it on the off chance work might call.

Oh no! I too use it as an alarm clock and so I have to keep it near me without fail. But I don't keep it very close but just at a little distance within a hand reach. So, i don't think it will not harm by the radiation at nights. Anyhow, I have to carry it in the shirt pocket in the day times. It is an unavoidable evil thing.
