Ive noticed lately that my friend has been forcing her self to vomit every meal she eats. I told her its not healthy and its wrong but she wont listen. She says shes only gonna do it for like a week until she loses 10 kilos . Is there any way that only one week of vomiting could not cause all the scary stuff like hair loss and bulimia? will she be bulimic ? how do you become bulimic? and i was also thinking since she is stubborn and calls all the health issues crap that i would tell her like an amount of time were she could lose the 10 kilos and get it over with? so when is she gonna lose them?

10 kilos in a WEEK? Not happening. And yes, that is a hundred percent bulimia. Have her seek help IMMEDIATELY. Do not let it progress. I did and I ended up in the hospital. There is nothing glamorous about it. She can die.

Sorry to hear that your friend is doing this.
This is not safe and dangerous in longer term matters. I am not a professional, but have seen this type of thing happening many times for others, both when I grew up and sometimes for people at older ages even. But childhood and teenage days are the most common.
Again, though not a pro, I'd recommend very much that you talk to either or both:
1) School counselor
2) Friend's parents

Low self esteem, desperation, stress, pressure from others.. There isn't one set way that person becomes bulimic but those are causes for a lot of people that have it. Bulimics usually eat outrageous amounts of food right before doing their thing. Your friend is already on the path. You'll know for sure though if after the week is up she is still at it and starts making excuses. If she wants to lose weight (if she even needs to in the first place) she should look into a change of diet and eat healthier food.

Suggest to your friend better not eat her foods anymore if she's going to vomit them out. There are many people in the world who are very poor cannot buy food and living in poverty. Better donate the food to the needy instead of wasting in such abnormal behavior. If she want to lose wait, the best way is to abstain eating and opt to drink more fruit juices. Wasting food is a sin, God is not happy with what she's doing.

First you have to identify if you friend has Bulimia Nervosa or Anorexia Nervosa. These are two different things although they both belong to what we call eating disorder. In Anorexia Nervosa, it is defined as the avoidance of food or fear of food. That is why people with this disorder do not eat at all. And one symptom of this is also the Bulimia Nervosa. On the other hand Bulimia Nervosa, is defined as the pattern of eating, guilt, binge or throwing up what they eat.
Eating disorder is a very serious one so i suggest that your friend should seek help as soon as possible. As her friend, you might suggest that you both go to the gym to burn those 10 kilos instead without sacrificing her health.

I think that's already bulimia. Vomiting after eating is a sign of bulimia. And its really not healthy. You should really help your friend. Tell her love ones about what she's doing. And always be sure you are there for her. What's with losing 10 kilos for the week? That's a lot! Why don't she just do more exercise and eat less but don't induce vomit.

Its not Bulimia.. Its Anorexia Nervosa.. the conscious avoidance of food consumption even though you're not obese, the constant rejection of food even though the body needs it already.
a serious medical condition will develop with persistent induced vomiting.. what we call Chronic Esophagitis or Barret's Esophagus.. this will manifest with vomiting, dyphagia and frequent pyrrosis (Heart burn).. what's worse, it can double the chance of developing Esophageal cancer in the future... Esophagitis is already incurable and stubborn like your friend.. while cancer is more silent and fatal.

People suffering from bulimia usually go on binge eating...then after realizing that this would lead to weight gain, they would then do drastic means to get rid of the calories, like fasting or purging themselves. So first, you have to identify if your friend goes into binge eating (n which she cannot resist the urge to eat a lot and stuff herself, despite the fact that she's quite conscious of her weight). If such is not the case, then maybe you should start telling your friend that what she is doing is pointless. It's pointless to eat then afterwards find a way to purge it out. Why don't she just control the quantity of food... eat less so she does not have to purge what she feels is excess.
