Do you have a favorite member of the family?

On my dad's side of the family, our clan is huge. My dad is one of 16 children, as some of you know. Two of them are deceased (one girl died at the age of 2 of pneumonia, one son died at the age of 28 in the line of duty as a police officer). I have two aunts that are absolutely my favorite members of my dad's side. I love the whole family, don't get me wrong. And I would never tell any of them I have a favorite...but I do. My Aunt Lana and my Aunt Joyce. Do you have a favorite member of the family?

Well.... I have plenty of family members to choose too:) There's my mom and dad's family ( my adoptive parents), then there's my biological family, then there's hubby's family.... but, well, I probably could have a favorite in my biological family, if I knew them a bit better. I like them all, specially my sister, but although we have been in touch ever since we were children, it was sporadic and never long enough to form a real bond. Hubby's family...better not even touch that one. I am the one that is not part of the family, merely married the son/brother/nephew etc. No favorites there although I do like his aunt who has always been fair and accepting. Now from my adoptive family it is more difficult to choose. I love them all dearly. But yes, I do have a favorite. My aunt Lourdes and her daughter. Maybe because they were the closest to us, the ones I saw more often and my cousin was my childhood playmate and my teenager partner in crime LOL I think it is normal and everyone does have someone that is somehow a favorite. It doesnt' mean we don't love the other members of the family, or that they are not important to us. Just that there are always those special ones that we identify more with, or are closest with.

My favorite members in my family are my nephews. When my sister had them a few years back, I was there to take care of them from 0 months until they were old enough to walk and even go to school. They are my favorite because they are so lovable. I love them so much. Its just sad that I dont get to spend a lot of time with them anymore since I got married and moved to another place. I love them so much and I hope that they know it. Writing something about them makes me really miss them.

Other than my immediate family my favourite is one of my mums sisters, my auntir Margaret, she has had sucha tough life being 24/7 carer tomy 47year cousin who has cerebal palsyand has just hada kidey transplant too but is always happy and thinks of others all the time. We receive little suprise giftsin the post from her and when I travelled to see her (she lives many miles away) to help her with some practical things that needed doing she was beside her with gratitude as she copes all by herself usually but it was the least I could do. She lives in the type of neighbourhood where people don't help which is a shame, she is very elderly now and should have help, she does go to church though and someone does pop round from there now. Huggles. Elie :D

My niece, my younger brother`s only daughter is my favourite.Since i am not married she naturally became my favourite. When she was born i was working in another country. When i returned to my home she was just 10 months old.She and i hit it off from the very first moment we saw each other. She used to play with me, sit on my back, climb all over me, and do all the things little babies do. As she grew up sh became more and more attached to me. However when sh was 6 years old my brother went to work in one of the Gulf countries followed by my sister-in-law and the litle girl. she did part of her schooling there. Every year they would come home during vacation and both of us would catch up.then in `97 my brother and the family migrated to Toronto,Canada where they stay now. My niece is now 24 years old and still has the same affection for me but in a more subdued way. She will soon start working as she has completed her studies. My little baby is now a full grown adult but to me she is still my little darling she was before. I miss her very much.

I don't have a favorite, I'm not so close to my parents. But of course I love them so much, but since a child they never really showed me that I matter and I never really felt loved. Hmmm...maybe my aunt fe, I like her she is very caring, but I no longer see her since she is now living too far away from me. I just hope to see her again one day and be able to return the love and care that she showed me during those times that we were together.

Hopefully my aunt Sharon isn't reading this. My mom's side is likewise very large. Mom is one of 8 from one marriage, 6 step-siblings. And all of them have children, so that brings another 2 on average, bringing count to 28. 3 of them have 2 children and 2 have 3 children, 36. Then my father's side has 6 that I met before he disappeared from my life. My stepfather, who I refer to as dad is one of 7, and they have kids and their kids have kids. another 18 on that side. brings me to 54. my sister makes 55. and I lose track after there. My favorite until march of 09 was my Great Grandmother. After she passed away I decided to withdraw from my family. I haven't talked to anyone besides my mom, dad, and sister in 9 months. I wish life wasn't so hard. Enough about that though. To answer your question, my favorite would have to be my cousin Stephanie.

Almost all of my aunts and uncles are gone...and I shouldn't pick a favorite from my kids and really I love them all just as much....but for different reasons...and I can't say that I love one sister more then the other so I won't....but there is a favorite..LOL.

Oh yeah..I had a favorite great-aunt who passed away many years ago as well as a favorite uncle, both on my dad's side..On my mom's side I have a favorite aunt who is getting pretty old, but she's still around..I don't get to see her much since I have no car and trying to get my husband to visit my relatives isn't easy..He'll only do it if they invite us to a special gathering. Like the last time I saw her was about 3 years ago when her children threw her a birthday party..

My all time favorite family member is my Great Aunt Maureen. She is my dad's, mothers, sister. She is a retired school teacher. I used to spend a lot of time with her in the summertime. I have not seen her much in the last several years because I now live in a different state, but I think she will always be my favorite.

hi ambiepam with me as my only close family is my son, itmust be my son. He was always my favorite although I never told him or anyone else. I am 84 so alot of my favorites are now gone. but my son is 51 now and I do depend on him a lot even though we live in separate towns right now. So guess he is my favorite my one and only son.

I don’t get along with my parents that well and my relations all live in Italy so I hardly ever see them. My sister lives in the same city as me and she is definitely my favourite family member. There is nothing dysfunctional and nasty about her, she is down to earth and kind and probably one of the few people in the world who ‘get’ me!

I don't think I have a favorite but I do bond better with some members than others. My father's side, it was his mother. On my mother's side it was her sister (the middle sister). They are both deceased now but both gave me so much knowledge, wisdom and characteristics that I will treasure. But my mother will always be my BFF.

My favorite member of my family is my grandfather. He passed away 13 years ago. He was the best grandfather ever. He never judged me for what I looked like and was always there. I used to love to listen to the stories that he told about when he was growing up during the Great Depression. We used to go on walks together, and play at the park together when I was little. He will forever hold a very special place in my heart.

hmm.. actually i dnt beleive in having a favorite member in our family... parents... they dont give differnt amount of luv to each person.. its all same... parents give same amount of their luv to all their children.. siblings... actually SOMETIMES it depends upon the give take policy, u get the same amount of luv u give them.. its not always true... in some family siblings dont like each other due to their differnt ways of thinking... or even possiveness.. or the feeling that they get more luv from parents.. even complex also has big problem... an also intimacy between any family members can also be good reason on they becoming their favorite.. so i conclude by saying i luv evryonein my family and respect them in the way they deserve... i wish i was not boring..

I would hope that parents would not have a favorite child, and that children would not have a favorite parent. I certainly don't favor my dad over my mom or my mom over my dad. I was talking about extended family. With my immediate family, I have no favorites.
