What will you do if your Colleague depends on you?

A pleasant day to you. I just wanted to know what should be done to a colleague who always depends on you. Wherein, he cannot do completely the task being assigned to him. Wherein this guy was assigned in one of the crucial task in our office and maintains some machines as part of his duty. The management given him this task since they believed so much in him. However, the management do not have the idea that this guy is not completely knowledgeable in the process of the task. Hence, this guy, is just asking help from his colleagues then will just portrait that he is the one who did the job. And he keeps on being dependent to others every now and then. If you were on our shoe and situation, what would you do?

according to me dependency is one of the disease which once associated with the person may not leave them easily. Various colleagues in the office depend upon each other for completing the office task. If My colleague depends on me then on particular day i will not come to the office so that task is to done individually by him.
