Mom's cooking is the best! Why?

It's good that you can have a good appetite since childhood. Actually my appetite was improved after using the prescription. I remembered that I need to swallow 8 to 10 capsules and tablets made with herbs every day. Luckily I did not have any problem consuming any form of medicine so far. My mum was glad that it really helped me to have a better appetite after some time. Besides, you are lucky to have the privilege to enjoy the best portion of the dish prepared by your mum. It's ashamed that you did not get to indulge in such delicious food prepared by them during your childhood. Unlike you, I have no problems with my appetite since I was a child until now. I, being the youngest of the six siblings,was privileged in getting the best share of my mom's food and even the best part of the chicken which is the drumstick. During those times, we only get to eat a roasted chicken or duck drumstick during our birthdays. It was our special present then. The smell of the drumstick would drained all our saliva. While your mother had to seek help from chinese physician and played games to get you to eat your food. Luckily, your appetite have improved especially during your teens. But I think you are more weight conscious for consuming less food now as an adult. Some parents like yours, are so wonderful serving you the best food and I hope you will not disappoint them in any way now and in the future. Best regards to you and your parents.

It would be good to feed you with lots of supplements then to make you healthy since you were so compliant.I can imagine how happy your mom was when your appetite did improved because of the medicine you took. Yes, being the youngest in the family really benefitted me during my childhood. I remembered how high my chair was when our family gathered for steamboat party. They used 3 chair to raise me to that height to enable me to scoop my favourite food. I was so small and skinny although my appetite was good. Do you have any favourite dishes which your mom or your dad cook which are delicious and the best of the best?

Hi Tomitomi! Thanks for your response. You are just like me who appreciate and treasure the memory of our mom's cooking. She cares, loves and nuture us until we have grown into adulthood and her love for us was unconditional. In order to show my appreciation, I serve my mom as best as I could when she is sick or old. I cooked her dishes which I learnt from her and made sure it was the best of the best too. She smiled to me then tears rolled over her cheeks. They were tears of joy. It is logical that as a child, we may have good memory of our mother's cooking especially when our taste buds are so senstive, the food being our initial food and so delicious too. Gee!You do have a point there. Yes, samson, no matter how good outside or hotels food are, our mother's food is still the best. At this modern times, many mothers need to work to help to provide for the family. As such, they have no time or probably too exhausted to do house chores or cooking. Your mother is adventurous and always trying new recipes. This pleases you as well. And her signature tofu dish is one of my favourite food too. It's yummy and nutritious too. All food cook by mothers, may it be mother-in-law, god-mother or even some step-mother would taste special when it is cooked with some much love. My spiritual teachers wouldn't allow us cook unless we can prepare and cook with only good and positive thoughts. It is true that fresh, high quality and costly ingredients do affects the taste of our food. Most mothers would always choose the best for her family. Hi, Iys1280023 I am so glad that you appreciate your mom's cooking as much as I did. I am so sorry that you have to eat food from your school canteen. The food from schools are usually not of variety, and definately not as delicious, nutritious and contain a lot of MSG( monosodium glutamate) which is harmful to our health. This is one of the main concern of our mothers so they will cook to make sure that we don't eat food from outside. Yes, cooking with love does make a difference in our cooking. Our food will not turn out fine if we cook with anger, lousy feeling, hatred etc. There is a spiritual institution which I went which will only let anyone to help out in the kitchen unless that person reach a certain level of practice. The food they cook are filled with love and positive thoughts for yogis from worldwide who are serious in mental meditation practice. This really explained why mom's cooking is so delicious, unforgetable, unbeatable compared to any other foods. This is a proven theory.
