I was thinking of posting a new discussion last night. Well actually, it was already midnight and to think, I should be sleeping already. I was already on the start a new discussion on mylot page when my laptop alerted me of low battery. Gosh... So how do you feel when you have something in my mind to share, but you run out of time, when you are in an internet cafe or office should be closed? Or your laptop's battery life is already low? Well, last night, I just turned off my laptop and went to bed. I have chosen to charge it only this morning. Care to share your experience?

Can you leave the lap top plugged in? or are you in a place you can't do that?

i am afraid something not good might happen with the battery. worse, if something will happen bad with the laptop. i heard some people telling not to over-charge the battery as it may explode, or something.

actually, i can leave it plugged in but i don't want to leave it plugged in for a longer time. if i have to go to sleep and my laptop needs to be charged, i will only charge it the next morning when i am awake. i also do not want it plugged in and unattended.

When I used my lap top I always left it plugged in... the tech said it was ok to do so. Just plug it in and it's ready in the morning........and just keep it plugged in unless you move somewhere.

I wish to post something here but due to the fact that I am out of my territory and relying on a borrowed computer I have to restrain myself from pursuing my intention to post discussions for fear thay I won't be able to give out my comments as I am always on the move now. I have to be satisfied with just responding for the time being.

hi neil! well well its very frustrating and annoying for me hen things like this happens. i hate it hen i have something in my mind and excited to post then something went wrong...huh! i hate it because i know whatever i have in my mind will be lost afterward and my concentration will be gone, its a discouragement for me. just like the other day i guess, i am trying to bring back my activeness here and im so excited logging in, and when i'm about to comment in one of my friend's discussion, i just wrote about 2 or 3 sentences and the next thing i know is there's an electricity cut off! waaaaaaaaaaaah! i almost want to kick the computer and shout! haha but i just can't do anything but pull out the plugs and wait for electricity to come back...and what i want to write, is already gone!

Hi,Neil.:-) That could be very frustrating! My pc is always crashing down. It must be the programs or whatever that is causing it.Every time it crashed down, I had to restart the pc and start from scratch. But unlike you, I will finish everything that I have started even if it means waiting for a couple of minutes or re doing it again and again, depending on the pc. I am a very patient person when I willed to. :-) Have a blessed Sunday, my dear.:-)

Honestly, Neil,I silently curse the pc when it keeps on cashing down.LOL And the case is, when I lost the data, I lost the data. I have no way of recovering it....I'm being tested but I don't give up so easily.:-)

You are cool enough to shut it off and gone to sleep. I'm more a perfectionist that would very bothered by such thing and it would take awhile for me to sleep or never would. But then again it depends on what I'm working on. But whatever I work on I think I should be a little more forgiving on this too. If I can for other things in life why not something like this. And this is what I need to work on.

Good you listen to your body. It knows that you should rest. There's no point wondering why and when I should instead, like me which I hate sometimes. Keep it that way. You should be healthier and happier. I'll find ways to mend mine.

I understand exactly what you mean…it happened to me quite a few times. When I was a newbie here and brimming with ideas to share, invariably the net would let me down…you know, after hubby had left for work and my own household chores were done, I would just feel like sitting down to some peace and serious mylotting and the moment I logged in…’sorry, no connection’…can you imagine my frustration! After a time, I used to just resign on my fate and note down the topics I wanted to share…even after that, gradually I stopped posting my own discussions in not absolutely necessary…now I enjoy more responding to others.

just this evening, we had strong rains with lighnings, thunderstorms. my wife was on facebook when the rain suddenly came. she got frustrated when suddenly the connection lost. and it went off for hours so she was not able to wait for the connection to come back, she just went to bed. i now enjoy a good connection but will not be staying longer as it is already midnight here.

It would bother me not being able to post my discussion so it would be difficult for me to just shut the machine down and not worry about it. I would connect my laptop to a power point or I would have to write down the topic with the intent of posting it as soon as I got up the following day.

plug this to the power line will take more than two hours before it gets full and i won't be able to stay that late since it was already past midnight. and i won't let it plugged for more than two hours as i am afraid something will happen not good with the laptop which is worse thing to happen to my life.

Everyone has sometime or other such experience of running out of time. It happens at the examination time in schools or colleges when one has to finish the paper before the invigilator pulls the answer paper out of your hand when you are writing an answer to a question, you are sure is the right answer. It happens when you have an appointment and somone or something is hindering you to make a go for the appointment. It happens when you have to catch a train or plane and the transport does not turn up on time or you are held up in a terrific traffic jam. But we all have some kind of resilience. Simple things like your laptop battery do not matter if one postpones. Others are more complicated and of real consequence. So every precaution is needed to avert meeting with such a situation.

If I have very important to do with my computer or laptop, I will do everything even staying up very late just to be able to write. But if it's not really that important, I will just sleep first and continue doing it the next day. I can still share what's on my mind even the following day, so there's nothing to be frustrated if it's not really important.

but there are really some important things that gets you upset when you lost time or run out of time to share it and can't wait the next day. and it happens that you will forget it later.

Happened to me dozens of times..Really I think about being faster in my thoughts, that's the way to go, don't you think? Running out of time can be far the worst thing that could happen to anyone when you have all the time in the world, but not to the ones who are chasing others with their time, they'll be chased after, too. Sooner or later it will happen, so let's all be a bit more patient about things.

Hi Neil, As you know I don't do much discussions but if that happened to me, I'll just get a pen and paper and write it down, then when I can get back on the computer, I will just do the discussion, but few weeks ago we had a power cut, right in the middle of what I was doing, I was so angry and had to go to bed, LOL! Hugs. Tamara

i used to have a pad and a pencil in my bag, so when i am out and away from the computer, i can jot down some notes about great happenings and other experiences. and when i get back to mylot, i post them. i don't want to lose any moment and ideas to share. anyway, i lost them now, so i just did this discussion. hope to see you again in my future posts, tamara. thanks again for always supporting me here.

in this world if one spends a lot of time in our work then even that is not sufficient to live the life with full enjoyment. time is that thing which is going on and one must consider the thing that if we can keep our pace compareble to time then one will definitely achieve the success in life.

That's just Ohhh I hate it when it happens to me but sometimes I just think of something positive and tell myself that things happens for a reason and move on to focus on something worth doing. Sometimes though I realized that this things happen because of my irresponsibility because most of the time I tend to overlook things

Once while playing a game on fb, I have this really nice neighbor who never forgets to gift me daily, that day he sent me a really expensive item that I couldn't afford to buy because it costs real money. I really was going to thank him and post the thank you message on his wall, but when I was about to do it the power went off. It felt really bad because I failed to publish the thank you message and it took 12 hours before I got to log on again. I was just able to thank him through a private message, and so sad because it took longer to thank him.
