Difference between Nintendo DS and a DSi

I've always wondered what the difference was between the NDS and the NDSi. The only thing I know is that it has a way bigger screen. Is the extra cash worth it? Also, I've heard people say its region-locked. I'm the kind of guy that plays both EUR and Japanese games so that would really discourage me of buying it.

I think if you are thinking about getting one like i was you may wanna see the E3 review on the new 3DS. i am waiting for that to come out. I started about a year ago wanting to buy one, and there was always some update or special or something that kept me waiting. Even though they will release Nintendo 3DS I doubt there are lots of games that are shown in 3D. Maybe I'll just wait about a year after it was released so that there are lots of games in 3D.

When will they release 3ds? I won't buy it too as soon as it gets released because it will be so expensive. Unless I can afford by that time. I have hundreds of nds games, I don't think it will be 3d when played it 3ds right?

Yes one difference is the size. DSi's screen is bigger. Also I think the sound is better. And DSi has 2 cameras, 1 in front and the other one in the back. And there are also games that you can only play in DSi and not in DS like the games that needs camera. The only drawback of DSi is if you still have cartridges from your good old gameboy advance you cannot play it in DSi. But you can play it in DS. So overall I think its better to buy DSi than DS. If you have an extra cash and you want bigger screen then go for the DSXL.

i think that differences between ds and dsi are:1.the screen is bgger in dsi than ds2.improved and double camera on dsi 3.probably much more title available...

well basically its the camera like the ones that has posted above. but personally what you will see is the larger screen and the brighter lights being used.
i have big hands and when i am playing with the old ds, its a lot harder because of the smaller screen and the ds looks like a childs toy for some reason.
