This conflict, as some of you may know, is a very important and influential issue. I am Israeli and have my own opinions about this problem. Since I'm new here, I'd like to know what you think about it...
So what do you think?

Amifre, I am Christian but now believe that the people calling themselves Israelites/Israelis have no relationship to even the Biblical Israelites because of whom Christians around the globe lend blind support to today's Isaelis. And I no longer believe that the Good God of Creation made the promise in Genesis 15:18-21 that the then-Israelites and today's zionists base claim for portions of the Middle East. By the way, welcome to Mylot! Just remember that this a world forum and you are bound to run into various perspectives on matters.

From the outside looking in, it seems to me that both have the same "rightful" claim to the land as far as any "rights" go concerning religious beliefs. And not to be a stickler for just that, I understand that the planet is the planet and people are people, and the idea of any one type of person "owning" something seems a bit shortsighted.
However, Muslims, by and large, can exist in a multitude of places throughout the Middle Eastern region peacefully and without being threatened with extinction. I realize this isn't the case for some Muslim sects in constant battle, but in comparison to land mass on which Muslims can gather and live, it's quite massive. Jews, on the other hand, do not have the same luxury. The Jewish people were REgifted this land to be a safe haven because much of the rest of the world, especially Europe at the time, and especially the Middle East, does not want their presence.
Israel may be wrong in a lot of what they do to citizens while trying to remain safe from Hamas' relentless efforts, but Israel also seems to be under attack because of who they are--Jews by and large--more so than where they're located.
I have a sneaking suspicion that even if Israel didn't defend itself and didn't set up blockades and even helped Gaza rise in stature, they'd still be the "enemy" and would be under constant attack.
I'm not necessarily sure I have any solution. Religious can be dangerous when you're of the mind that yours is superior and everyone else must submit. Land rights can be dangerous. Everything in there seems to be a toxic mix.
It's really a shame.
