Been participating to myLot discussion for a few days now. And I now wonder, do people here start discussion just to earn points or they are really curious to know the answers.
I mean, if all of us here are busy starting dicussions, posting our response and hope to earn more points... would those, who started the discussion, take time to read the answers to their posts?
On my end, I actually really check on the responses on the discussions I've started.. well, I guess for curiosity's sake.
On the other hand, I really give an honest to goodness response on some discussions...quite lengthy even at times, esp. if I feel like I can help. And it would be quite discouraging that your responses wouldn't be read given that you spent effort and time to make a good response.
HOW ABOUT YOU? DO YOU MIND CHECKING THE RESPONSES ON THE DISCUSSIONS YOU HAVE STARTED?

With this kind of program it is impossible that there are not people who will abuse. It's just sad that they're cluttering up the space just for the money. I read every discussion I start, and most of the time when I respond, I go back to see what others said after me. Then again, this is only like my second day, but I joined not to have something that will make me money, but because I would just be going through forums trying to find something interesting anyway.

I actually doubt it. I see quite a few people who keep starting the discussions, but when I respond, they do not leave behind a comment. In fact, some of these do not even give best responses to their discussions. After a few attempts, I usually stop responding to such people's discussions, because it is very clear that they are not starting the discussion to have a discussion, but just to earn a few quick bucks.
Cheers!

Yeah, I'm beginning to see that, too.
I wonder then, if we just write zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz .... as our response, would that be credited? anyway some who started the discussions don't read our response anyway! lol!
Quite unfortunate, I feel like it's a waste of effort trying to give a good response or opinion!
Thanks for expressing what you also observe!

I try to read the responses to the discussions I start, and I respond to the ones that interest me. However, I am bad about forgetting to choose best responses. I need to come up with a system of some sort to remind me to go back and do this after a couple of months to award the best response. Anyone got any ideas???

I feel good when people respond to the discussions I start and I do read it. But like you, quite also bad iun choosing the best response. Though at times I tend to forego it, thinking that maybe someone will post better responses by tomorrow. Si i guess, we really have to put system in it, to commend the efforts of those who tried to make extraf effort in giving a good response.

If they don't then they are the losers as commenting and counter commenting not only gives a topic the status of a 'discussion' all those comments and counter comments could help someone earn here!!

Well I cant say about others but if I am concerned than I surely read all the responses of the discussions I started. Its true that we all are here just for money , but we can make it better if we will try to find fun in it.
So I choose only that topics only for discussion about which I am curious alot. So I do read all the responses I get and i like it.
Well I hope you have read my response too ;)
take care.

Dear Pinki.
You raised an issue which is really pertinent to all mylotters. You appear an honest person that is why you respond in an honest way with a feeling that you response could help.
I also do in the same way. I also try to help by giving a proper response. I also read very carefully whatever response I receive and some of them really helped me. The very purpose of such platform would be defeated if we are only concerned with points. We should give proper respect to discussion and if we read them and want to respond, it should be honest only.
Please do continue in the same manner.

I'll answer the last questions first. I love going back to my discussions and seeing what people had to say. I usually comment on their response and I do my best to make it meaningful. I continue checking my discussions for at least a month. Sometimes people don't see your discussion for some time. I found a discussion that interested me when I did a search to start a discussion. It had no responses and was 7mo old. Yes I like the income and I do my best to increase my earning, however I don't start a discussion just to start one. I research and do a search to avoid duplicates.
I also read the majority of comments ahead of me so I can add something to the discussion. I do my best to select a best response unless there is only one or two responses and neither really fits. I do my best not to get discouraged if one of my discussions gets no or only one or two comments. It just didn't strike a chord in peoples interests. A good title is part of the key.
Yes I feel like zzzzzzzzzzzz some discussions, however I don't. I just move on to another discussion. Yipes, I've written a book.
Prosperous mylotting

Hi, I cant speak for others , but in my case when I start a discussion I make it a point to read each and every response I get and normally comment on the response I get. This I do for all my discussions and I feel that , that is what the whole purpose of the discussion is - all the best and happy mylotting

Oh, I checked everything. I may not be able to check them all at once but I do check them gradually.
The discussions I posted were product of my thoughts that I need to be clear. Some were my actual situations that I need sensible advice. Some were things I observed and wonder if others had observed them too.
Some of my respondents are already my friends. Just like you said, you spent time and effort to post a response, so friend or not friend, I owe them for supporting my discussion.
However, I don't comment to a response that says Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. :-)

I check the responses to the discussion I started and I don't bother to comment back if I have anything to say. But I don't think everybody here does the same.

i check them! i like it when there is a good dialog between me and another. an actual discussion. it actually frustrates me when i give a genuine answer and get nothing back. or some lame thanks for posting. i like to talk, a lot sometimes and always check my responses for responses :-) i love reading other peoples ideas or thoughts. suggestions and advice. i always pick the best response by who can keep an interesting dialog going. what a great question! i will be back to check the answers later, lol.

Not enough people do, when I go back and check on discussions I have responded to there are many who do not respond.
I find this annoying because it stops the discussion becoming a real discussion.
I check mine, naturally there will be times when one or two slip through but I do try to check them all

Well, I ask questions which boggles my mind and I am sure curious of what other people has to say so I could get insights and perspectives on things.. Mylot is good place to meet people and friends.. I value my friend's opinion and advice.. In the process we earn form the activity or participation...

I'm new to MyLot, but I do check the responses to discussions I've started. One starts a discussion 'coz one's interested in it. It'd be silly not to check the responses he/she gets.
