Revelations chapter 8 posioned waters and the BP oil spill, similar or not?

This recent problem with BP makes me wonder how close it resembles the book of revelations chapter 8 and the poisoning of the earths waters. Some people believe that Chernobyl was actually the star called wormwood but what if the star that was mentioned was actually an atomic bomb that is used to try and seal off the oil leak. how else would someone in ancient times describe a nuclear blast other than as a star. In verse 7 we have a third of the earths plant life destroyed are we nearing that already or have we past it with fires in California droughts and the destruction of the rain forest. In verse 8 we have something like a mountain all ablaze (oil rig?) and it causes a third of all living creatures to die. Anyone looking at satellite images can see that the oil spill has already spread into the Atlantic ocean maybe we are at that point right now. Whats your thoughts could this be the second trumpet?

I believe that wormwood is an asteroid. Depending on how large it was, an asteroid colliding with earth would create quite a nuclear explosion. Our scientists still haven't figured out a way to stop an asteroid from hitting. They have theories, but no kind of defense has been raised. If we found out that a large asteroid were going to hit in days, it may not be like the movies -- we might not get any kind of defense up in time.

It would certainly fit the scriptures better with the star falling from heaven thing.

Hello evanhunter. I see major correlations between Revelations and the 2012 predictions. Maybe I just have an overactive imagination, but maybe the Mayans were able to see the same things that the translators of Revelations saw. I don't know if any of it is true, but it is quite a conincidence.
I have done some reaearch on 2012, and though it was some time ago, and some of the details I found have been forgotten, I find it a little unsettleing.

Hmmm. I didnt think about it that way but you have a point there. I think there are so many things written in the bible that are manifested these days. There are also wars and rumors of wars and its also happneing now. I think its a sign that the second coming is almost here and we have to make ourselves ready for that.

Maybe its not just a warning for end of days but of all times. Maybe time and events themselves are like a fractal and patterns that repeat.

it is possible, but at the same time it's too soon to say anything. These events need to be studied, the total damage they cause must be assesed and the compared to the bible. Until then it's only safe to assume.

I believe that poisoned waters and the BP oil spill are one and the same. Absolutely.. I was wondering if anyone else out there was putting two and two together about this whole mess and coming up with my same thoughts. I'm with you. It wont be long before the third trumpet soumds.

If it is meant as a chronological order. What do you feel wormwood will be a asteroid a nuke or something else?
