Best Gaming System

What would you suggest to someone looking to upgrade to a new gaming system? I currently use PC, PSP, PS2. It seems like everyone lately has been wanting a Nintendo Wii, but being more of an RPG gamer, the Wii just doesn't seem interesting to me. There are so many Systems to choose from, like, PS3, Xbox 360, NDS, PC, Wii, that I don't know where to start. I have always like the Playstation formats, but don't like the idea of the PS3 not being backward compatible. I love the PC games I have played, but you can get into a lot of money upgrading your systems to play the games. It seems like the graphic requirements change daily and its hard to keep up. What would you suggest?
