Are foxes really dangerous?

I wouldn't say that Foxes are my favorite creatures but there is definitely something about them that makes them extremely intriguing animals.
Today I saw one in my garden pecking at the ground in the same way that a bird would, then sit and clean itself before vacating the area. I was trying to make my mind up about whether foxes really are as dangerous as the recent media attention has given them a bad label. Here in the UK, there have been two separate incidents of reported claims of foxes attacking babies and small children and although these are genuine cases, I can't help but feel drawn more to them when they otherwise appear so clever, never going near humans at all other times as they are people-shy.
What do others think of these creatures that I guess the Cougar and Bear is America and Canada's equivalent garden visitor after food in the garbage.

Yeah I also think the same as you. I am also here in the UK, and quite often see foxes come here in my garden. My cat actually scares them off, and I don't know if you have ever heard a vixen scream.... but wow, they really can be loud. I wondered what it was when I first heard it.
They have a cute and adorable look about them... I think they have a gorgeous sweet face. I have been close to a fox, but it ran off, they do appear very scared of people. They are apparently flea ridden creatures, so probably not a great idea to invite them into your house lol... not that I would, but you can understand why some people do, they are very dog like creatures.

Their screaming howl really scares me too!
Would never invite one into my flat but they do sit up and look up at the window - I have no idea why do this?
