I think I need some help here...everytime I turn my laptop on, it freezes so I have to pull the plug out & once it hits low battery, my computer unfreezes so I plug it back in & it's fine...to try & fix the problem, I have cleaned up my computer, defragged it & run my virus scans but to no avail...would anyone know what the problem may be? ould anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do to try & fix the problem? Thanks to all in advance.

That's really bizzare? I wonder if it could be a battery problem? no I guess that does'nt make sense. where does it frezee? Is It overheating, are the fans kicking on at high speed? What OS are you useing? I was jsut looking it up on line how old is your computer is it desktop or laptop? this not being able to copy paste right now really is irritating. on computer shopper there is an article similar to that sorry I can't give you the link. it's long.

I know, it doesn't make sense to me too...it's a laptop & I'm running on xp...basically as soon as the computer boots up & loads xp, it freezes...it's not overheating as the fans kick in when they need to.

strange. could you find that article? anyway lemme know what you find out I love computer problems. I hate them mind you when they happen to me but I like to have an idea where to start. It always changes too, so when you have the same problem again it never seems you can use the same fix. Love hate relationship I have with computers. anyway , that article had a check list of things to do and if you can get to dos it had some c++ stuff to use. good luck.

First thing first, when your laptop freezes, press and hold the power button until it's turned off. Next to the strange behavior of your laptop. *grin* . Let me clarify this first. Your laptop freezes every time you turn it on until the battery has ran out and you plug it in again? is this correct?

I'll have to try that...Yes, you have it right...basically it freezes when windows loads & it unfreezes when I unplug it to run the battery low & then it's fine once I plug it back in.

hmm... have you tried turning it on without the battery pack? (Just plug in the power adapter). If it works fine, it could be the batter pack. I don't think this is caused by any software problems. The way I understand this, you don't have a problem when you start it with battery low. Another possibility is, there is a problem somewhere the power circuit of your laptop itself. But try it first without the batter if it will work fine. If it does, find someone with the same laptop as yours and borrow the batter pack and check if it will make your laptop work without a problem.

This may sound dumb but I'm not sure what a bios update is...I have scanned my hard drive to clean it up & also with malwarebytes & my antivirus.

I had the same problem with my laptop a while ago - and it turned out to be the power source that was the problem. You know - the little black box where the power runs through to your laptop? It was overheating so I bought a new one and it fixed the problem.

If you haven't got a spare one to test it, see if you can borrow one from a friend. At least that way, you will know if that is the problem, and then you can go and buy a new one. I do hope it's as simple as that. Good luck!

when known of that works i've tried something else in the past. what i did was restore my pc. you can either restore it with your information still on it you have now or restore it without the information you have saved to your pc over time. when my pc got bad enough all i could do from past experience was restore my pc on lose all information on it i might had saved. it was so bad that i could no longer restore it with the information i saved. hopefully you could restore your computer without losing all the information you saved. another option would be to restore it back to a different date. your information you have saved on your pc shouldn't be affected if you were to restore it to a different date. to do the bigger restoration of you pc though you would have to put your pc in safemode and would need some discs that should of came with your computer to complete the whole restoration process. hopefully this information helps to fix your computer.

Thanks for that...I may have to look into doing that...I think I have been trying to do everything else before I restore my computer to a different date.

I think this is all because of the software you have installed because I had it in my laptop too and I came to know about the problems only after some one week because it was so frustrating to use something which is freezing from time to time.

I never thought of that but I haven't installed anything out of the ordinary...at first, I thought it was a virus but I did a virus scan, got rid of viruses & it still does it.
