I have 2 chihuahuas a boy and a girl. I'm looking for some needed advice on what you all feed your chihuahua dogs so they can have a healthy coat, best dewormer, & shampoo. Thank you so much in advance.

My parents had chihuahua's since I was a kid and had quite a few. They didn't breed them but had them as pets. They always took them to the vets for their shots and so on however, hubby and I found that giving them their shots is relatively easy and can get them at Southern States Store or even at Tractor Supply Store and they have dewormers as well. The best way to deworm them is to take a fresh fecal sample to the vet and have it tested for worms. The vet can give you the right medication right then and there so there wouldn't be any guessing. As for shampoo, you're going to laugh but it's what I use which is Dial Body Wash - the spring water kind. It kills all the germs and makes them smell sooooo good! I have a soon to be 12 year old Chihuahua named Peanut along with two female mixed chihuahua's and they do just fine with the body wash.

I wouldn't never thought of using dial body wash thank you I'm going to invest in that one. Plus have you heard of using toothpaste when you wash your dog(s)? I heard the mint in the toothpaste helps control that doggie odor.

Oral Care Gel - This is what I've been using for the past year and it seems to work.
Do not use human toothpaste for your dogs. It's not good for them. Get the some from Petsmart or some place that carries dog products and get a doggy toothbrush as well or you could order some online from petzlife.com and get the Oral Care Gel. Dogs who have bad breath is usually caused by rotten teeth not from eating a certain thing. So to brush your dogs teeth will help prevent that from happening. I tried brushing my dogs teeth a few years ago but because they weren't puppies anymore, they wouldn't take to it so I gave up so since yours are still pups, they can and will get used to it. Good luck!
