My daughter is 3 & is having her first "sleep over". The reason for the inverted commas is because she is still at home so to speak...At the moment, we have friends staying with us & have their caravan parked in our driveway (they leave tomorrow) & my daughter is staying with them & their 4 year old daughter as she asked if she could sleep in the van. I'm not sure how long my daughter will last as she has never had a sleep over at someones house with out me. How old was your child when they had their first sleep over?

My daughter was only a week old the first time that she spent the night away from me. The reason for this is that her grandparents wanted her to spend the night with them. However, if we are going outside of family, she was six years old the first time that she spent the night at a friend's house that is outside our family. The first time at a friend's house she only lasted a couple of hours, however they are just up the street from us so it was no problem to go get her. After that she has been successful in spending the night with friends many ties.

Wow!! At least you would have had a good nights sleep the night her grand parents had her lol. I am surprised that my daughter lasted all night.

I have no child yet and I dont think i would let my child to be away from me even for a day. I have to say that it is the first time I heard someone letting his/her daughter that young to have a sleepover. If I have a daughter, I think she has to be around 12 or 13 years old fo me to let her sleep ove another house.

I can understand that...I think I was about 7 when I was allowed to have sleep overs...I know that my daughter is safe & that if she wakes up in the night, she just has to come into the house & crawl into bed with me. I'm not worried, she's safe & is only in the caravan outside.

Aww at 3 years old she might have had a hard time. But since she was right outside your driveway in a caravan she could just come back in your home if she did get scared and wanted to go home. My neice who is 7 had a sleep over at our house last night. I put a nice thick blanket down on the ground and covered it with a sheet then I put two pillows on the ground and gave my daughter and neice each a sheet to put over them. They were up there in my daughters room talking for about a half an hour. Then they came down and my daughter was crying because she was scared sleeping on the floor and wanted to sleep in her bed so I went and covered her up in her own bed. Then my neice started crying because she was scared to sleep on the floor by herself. It went on for along time and my neice called her mom who was away at a concert. My neice went and fell asleep on the blankets on the floor for about an hour then she came into my room crying and I was so tired I just asked if she wanted to sleep in my bed. It was after midnight by this point. She came in and slept in my bed and like every hour all through the night she would bolt upright in bed and say something. I got very litle sleep last night lol.

Wow!! I am glad my daughter wasn't like that...she has since had another sleepover at one of her school friend's houses & she did really well there too but she keeps saying she doesn't want to sleep at anyone's house anymore lol.

If she is like our grandchildren, some one will be bringing her into the house later. We have taken several of the younger children home about midnight.

I am surprised, but pleased she made it all night. She is growing up and trusted them. Terrific
