Before Argentina won the world cup my favourite were Brazil. But the way Argentina played the game more came from their heart. It was really amazing to see those days when Mardonna played for Argentina. Now it is Messi and my full heart is for Argentina. Even if they do not win world cup, they are my favourites as the game they play is much of different from all other team I had seen. I hope the team players play with their heart and that is projected in their talents. Moreover Mardonna the great player’s spirit is still alive in this team.

Yes, I love Argentina too...people are expecting to see Messi score a goal..They have some great players like Higuain, Milito, De Michelis (regardless of his blunder and concentration loss while playing against SOuth Korea:). Maradona is one of the factors people go for Argentina..Whatever Maradona does and says, people want to know and now he becomes a coach. Hope he can be successful as a coach as well

Well I don't watch soccor, but I have a friend from Argentina, and she was so excited the other night when they won, she said it had been like 20 years since they won World Cup. So because of her excitement I am hoping for the win for them. Yes you can watch a team snd see the spirit in them, a team that is together, has convidence and want the win. Their supporters just have to have faith. I am from the USA and lived in Louisiana for almost 20 years and back in the 1960's too. They have football team the New Orleans Saints, now I tell you this team has always been bad, But somehow they got a couch and they got some players that really cared about the game and the win, and you could see it in the players, that the spirit was there. We have always hoped to just see them go to the playoffs, but last year was different, they wanted the win, and they got it. First time in 45 years they actually went to the superbowl, now that was all we was asking was for them to just go. THEY WON, the superbowl, we was estatic, but it was the team spirit that brought them together to get that win, and as for the fans, they never stopped believing. Doesn't matter if they ever do it again, they did it for us and the city of New Orleans, I hope Argentina wins it all for you for my friend and for Argentina.

But that was way back in 1986 when Maradona was still playing. Since then Brazil has won the world cup twice and France, Italy and Germany have all won one cup each!! Now things seem to have turned a full circle and another 5 foot nothing playmaker is grabbing all the right headlines for Argentina, and that is Messi. Let see if he can Messi it up for the rest of the teams:)
Cheers!

1970's Brazil vs any Argentina team = Brazil. Without Messi and Maradona Argentina are an average team. Maradona was beyond epic when he played, possibly the greatest player who ever lived. If anybody could actually match Maradona, then it's only Pele.
I understand what you mean about Messi... every time he has the ball you expect him to run at players. Somehow you just know he's going to get past them. His ball dribbling skills are crazily good, the balls litterally glued to his feet. I also like his attitude: most players go down too easily, it takes 3 or 4 players to take Messi down, even then he simply gets straight back up and continues running at defenders. Absolutely epic to watch for a neutral/home fans and terrifying for those he plays against.
I can't see any other team challenging Argentina in this World Cup. Spain have been ok, I suppose, but they're definitely not in form.
Brazil... well, I've been disappointed with the weakness of the team. It's in no way as strong as it used to be. No Ronaldhino, no Adriano, no Ronaldo, no Cafu, Carlos. Kaka isn't playing well and when you take him out the rest of the team is average....

Argentine nowadays it is not so powerful and does not have so many good players as before, lamentably the football to paired, the reality was indicating that Argentina was going to the world one as 4, but they gave to him the benefits extras in the FIFA for his world importance. The first phase was a step, in eighth it begins the real world one and our soccer image before Mexico was not the best, but we happen, we believed ourselves that already eramos champions, and flower of beating we receive against the Germans. We do not have alone equipment individualities.

Argentina was my favorite too for this World Cup but unfortunately they've lost it so harsh 4-0 to Germany. Maybe a little too big the scoreline, but it was a real poor match for the Maradona's boys.
