I don't think it would be too bad for kids. My nieces saw it (I didn't show it to them) and I guess no one thought that was bad. I saw it in theaters and bought the DVD as soon as it came out. I don't think you need kids to like the movie, I usually watch it alone because I don't want anyone to see me cry! lol

Oh yes, Marley and me is definitely sad too. And for those who liked this movie, I can highly recommend a movie called Hachiko - A dog's tale, which is similar, only better. It's with Richard Gere, of all people, and based on a true story. Really a wonderful movie, but very, very sad!

I applaud you katsmeow. I think my nieces have seen WAY to many movies that they shouldn't have (they are 9 and 7), like the Twilight Movies! Those are WAY to scary for a 7 and 9 year old to watch, I had to close my eyes during the 1st one (when they tore the bad vampire apart)! I wish my sister would not let me nieces watch inappropriate movies like that.
I saw Hachiko too pucca! It was sad, and I did cry at that one too.
I bawled during the Marley and Me book karen! I also got it on audio CD, cried listening to that ( in my car!) lol. And when I saw the movie in theaters I cried, and I cry every time I watch it at home! I lost 3 dogs in a period of 6 months in 2006...so Marley and Me definitely effects me! I'm sorry about yout dog

YES!! Titanic! I bawl every time I watch Titanic. Such a horrible thing to go through (and people really did go through it!! Some sad movies are easier to watch b/c they're fiction).

For me, it would have to be "A Walk to Remember" and "The Notebook". Both movies had me crying buckets the first time I saw them. And they can still make me cry each time I watch them again.

The Green Mile, Pay It Forward, Steel Magnolias. I'm sure there are a few others I can't think of right now.

Yeah, The Green Mile is also a great tearjerker. I loved both the book series and the movie.

For me the saddest film was "The Pursuit of Happyness" with Will Smith. It was not only the saddest, but also very great and hard movie about that, what could happen also with anyone around.

Schindler's List, I think. I know it is a very old movie, but I found it very touching the first time I saw it years ago, and I still do. Not only is it a sad movie, it is also a really good movie, with excellent acting, if you ask me! Spielberg in general is very very talented!

I think 'Titanic' is the saddest movie I saw.
What made me sad was the love affair that meets an early and tragic end. The gripping relationship between Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet)the way it was depicted had captivated the audience. These two lovers make every fleeting moment count together. If you watch the movie with someone you love, you are sure to cry.

when I was younger, I didn't shed a tear about these movies thinking that it's too corny if I cry about something in a movie. But when I became a father, almost all movies about parents and child makes me cry...though I won't let my kids and my wife catch me crying....lol...

I was so touched when I saw "Seven pounds". "Jakob the liar" was again that made me cry. What about you? What was the saddest for you?

Oh, I have cried at many films over the years - Titanic, E.T., An Officer and a Gentleman, The Pianist, oh loads! I can't remember them all. I cry a lot at films, but then I watch a lot of films too, various genres.

I cried when I saw My Girl for the first time, that was forever ago when I was younger. I also cried at most of the movies already listed here.
