Personal Attachment to Celebrities

Why is it that we have these personal attachments to people we have never ever met and probably will never ever meet in our entire lives? We know them through the characters, and interviews and the tidbits magazines love to spread all over their covers, but we truly don't know these individuals personally. In fact, we might have more in common with the people we see day after day, but we are less interested or emotionally invested in the people that are constant to our lives. Even I catch myself gasping or feeling a strong when I hear something about a celebrity. For instance, I just read that Mark Paul Gosseler (known for playing Zach on Save By The Bell) is filing for divorce. Instantly I gasped and felt sorry for him and his soon-to-be ex because divorces are hard things. It is crazy. Just an personal observation.

I guess it's all about familiarity. When you felt familiar with the things and people around you even do you don't form any personal attachment to the yet the fact that you knew something about them you will be affected with the negative or positive news about them. If we read news about celebrity all day and something happen to them it will affect our feelings too. As for the things...for example you will always see the big oak tree in the highway while you drive your car on the way to work everyday. let's say that three was been there standing mighty and proud through the years then all of sudden you drive in the morning and the tree was already cut. I'm sure you will felt sad and losing something.
