why do people keeps doing the wrong things when they already knew its wrong?

Why do people have to do the wrong things when they kwon its wrong? People always live in their own world ,they have their own ideas ,have their own dreams. but they did not such thoughts and dreams whether is correct or not? they still go on the basic of such ideas.

It may be out of desperation, my friend. There are some things in life we know we don't have a big chance at, but we still take/do them. In your friend's case, maybe she's trying to still work it out out of hopelessness. She's formed a bond with the guy and so leaving him is a difficult thing for her to do. She still thinks it'll work out. That also happens to battered wives. I don't get why they still decide to stay. Also, if we talk about cheaters. They know they'll hurt someone, but why do they do it? It's for pleasure, to increase self confidence (sad but true), they like the thrill, or they're just so insensitive.

On this topic, I may say that people are driven by their animal inertia of thoughts to do wrong things those put them in sufferings! Purity, Responsibility and Inertia are the three qualities of human mind, which are described as 'Satwa, Raja and Tama' in our scriptures of Dharma. Purity of thoughts and actions (Satwa) give a living of moral and spiritual enlightment, which is guided by divine blessings for the person and resuts in happiness and peace. Responsibility in thoughts and actions makes a living of materialistic success and brings both happiness and unhappiness equally for the person. And Inertia makes the person a slave of sensory organs those seek pleasure in a cheaper or immoral way, which brings misery! Very few people know this concept and a majority of people due to inertia in thoughts and actions, as a result of seeking cheap pleasure, pall a prey to many kinds of wrong things, which are even not approved by social structure! That is why people keep doing the wrong things knowingly! Thanks for this nice discussion and have always good and right activities!!

Nobody ever does anything he/she feels is wrong! Each person looks at the world in a different light. This different approach explains why, what is wrong for one, is right for another. Its interesting that people are shot and killed every day, and many of these murderers have a high IQ. They should know they will end up behind bars for the rest of their life, but the consequences for the crime does not deter them. The reason being- they truly believe they are doing a good thing by ridding the world of a bad person.

Hi, angeldiane2. Welcome to myLot! I think that people just don't want to admit that they are somehow wrong on their end. They think that what they are doing is justifiable and acceptable. It is sad when a person does wrong even though they know that it is wrong. Sometimes they can be a person that is just not caring of the consequences. I know if a man has cheated on me, I will never want to be back with him. Me and him are through!

there is what u called denial ... because they cannot accept whats really happening to them they dint usually accept that easy....because it is hard for them to accept that they failed on whats happening to them

Because maybe we expected things to happen much differently the second time around. Or shall we say we expected too much from it and hoping we can correct our mistake but then most of the cases we always do the same mistake twice. Sometimes humans were stupid in doing things that already bring much harm and pain to them. It's not because we like ding it but because it's part of human nature. It is like a cycle and never be completed with out us doing the same mistake over and over again. But then some person were strong and was able to resist the strong pull and was able to break free from the bondage. But some were unlucky and remain in the dark.

Habits once formed are difficult to eradicate.It is best that we inculcate good habits in children from a young age so they have a good character.A person with good character will never indulge in such wrongful activities.Even the erring spouse will realise that if strays he will pay the consequences.Most people do the things they do in spite of their realising such activities are wrong because they are weak willed and can't change themselves to adopt good habits.

Because we have what we called "denials", we don't accept that we have done wrong decisions. We keep on hoping that everything will be fine in time but not doing any actions to change it. I don't know but people are very hard headed, keep on doing the same mistakes even if they knew it is wrong, that is the mystery of life.

Because these people are mentally block if not dumb! There are thousand of people doing that and we can't help it because most of them don't listen and when you do they think you are trespassing their life..! though there are some that listen! but not all.! yeah and when they suffer they always run to you! and if you reject them they will hate you..! so i just stay away from these kind of people! I have few friends like that.

I think because human has a short memory span and human is forgiving. She might think she can change her boyfriend (which is absurd), or she may think he is the last man in the earth that fit for her? Who would know, except herself?

hi angeldiane. I won't lie so I tell you now, that sometimes, I do the same. Not because I don't know what I am doing is wrong, but because it's what my heart is telling me to do. Anyway, I'm doing wrong things but I make sure it doesn't cause harm to others. Sometimes, there comes a time that we need to lie to protect something or someone, right? We do something wrong for a good cause. But with regards to your friend, I can see that she's blinded by what her heart is telling her. She's not even thinking. She does wrong things for her heart's desire without considering other things. You see, what she keeps on doing can ruin not just her life, but her children's as well.
