Hi Friends,
I have been to New York last Sunday and it was such a great time. I went to Coney Island with friends, spent 3 hours in the water and it was amazing crowd there to be with. Came back to Wall Street, China Town, NYSE, Manhattan, many courts and few other streets.
I went to see 9 11 attack area, there is construction going on, no idea as to what are they trying to build at that place but it would be a big building as told by a local guy who was selling World Trade Tower pictures and posters before it was attacked.
I went to Time square, took lot of pictures, also clicked some pictures with the NYSE bull?
It was a dream coming true to be at NY
Have you been to this beautiful city?

Honestly, I am very comfortable in my home. :) So I dont really have that wander lust! :) But since you always wanted to see that place, and you got to see it, I am happy for you. :) I would never opt for man made landscapes, I would opt for woods, seas, lots of flowers - Netherlands or Japan interiors are what would be high on my list. :)

oh. dear vandana.. How I wish to take you back to the castles of RAJASTHAN.. I remember that you promised to travel in sleeper class, if I too agreed to your conditions that YOU would be bearing all the expenses, and a lakh more, to supplement my PRACTICE income... :P
Our Ajay friend.. got so carried away, AND, i fear SOME serious competition ...

I am from NY too. I worked in Manhattan for many years and left right after 9/11. It seemed to be a sign for me to sell my house and get out. I lived on Long Island at the time.
I love to go back and visit my friends and family but do not miss the traffic and long lines. There is nothing like a hot dog from a street vendor and a knish or NY Pizza or bagels.

I envy you friend. I have never been there, though I would very much like to see it. When you spoke about Manhattan, it brought back the old memories of 26/11 attack. One of my friends was there with his family on that fateful day. The incident had wiped out the full entourage accompanying them because they had parked their bus near WTC. He with his family went a little distance in search of Vegetarian food. That is how they escaped unhurt. He had narrated to me the firsthand account.
I wonder what must have happened to first time visitors who must have been on top of the building right at the time when the aircraft struck engulfing the whole top in flame.

I am sorry to know about your friend and although I had no friends from the 9 11 list but all the images of the attack night were in my eyes when I was there at the place. Looking at other building, just imazined the trade tower.
It was all time bad incident for everyone and cannot imagine for the one who got trapped in this.
Hope this was the last such incident and will have no 9 11 or 26 11 in future.
Thank You for sharing.
