I am a data entry clerk, apparently a homebased employee.. I accepted the job because I thought the job is very easy and I can earn 300dollars a month. Not bad for a data entry right??? I find it big actually.. But the problem is, I can't finish the quota my boss is giving me.. I usually work more than 8 hours, sometimes, 15 hours actually.. I am so tired with my job, but it's okay.. I don't have a choice because I really need money and maybe the payment explains the quota already. hehehhe. :D
Have you had this experience?

If I would be given the chance to work at home and earn that much, I would definitely grab the opportunity even if the job comes with a demanding boss. Working at home is a dream job for me. I want to spend more time with my family. I also hate getting up early to go to work and I do not enjoy travelling to work. I would trade into your position anytime.

Starsailover,
Hi there! The other site is much easier, you just have to post your resumes and the employers will just contact you if they read your resume and interested to you. Only that, there is less chance of being hired there since you don't apply to them personally.
Your job is great! How I wish I know how to speak Spanish and french! hehehe
Best luck with your job dear! be blessed! :)

Hi atente: I have found my job on onlinejobs.ph. I didn't know this other site, but I can tell you that I really enjoy this job. I don't get all the money that I would love to earn but I don't feel any pressure doing the English-Spanish translations so I think it's really comfortable and I want to keep this job with me. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

It would be good to work from home. I think you will find as you get more experience, you will get much faster, and eventually will cut your time down significantly. Good luck, and keep at it. The money is good.

I think I understand you starsailover! Even me wants to work outside. I want to grow, and I know that won't happen if I'll just stay here at home and work. I want to meet new people. :) And want to learn more things from others. And most of all, I want others to learn from me.

That is really nice to work at home to be with the family, why dont you concentrate on your speed and increase the speed of work. and get the job done faster. Maybe you can part some of your work to interested and dedicated people to release some pressure, maybe you may earn less but your work will not be under too much stress and if you work under stress and worry, that some portion of the money may go for medication... hehehe he

My standard shift is 12 hours, working out at an average of 42 hours a week. I work regular overtime (60-70 hours) to make my salary a decent level in the UK- still below what is the alleged 'average'.
My leave, however, is calculated at my contracted rate of 42 hours a week. By interpreting the way that the European working time directive is worded, leave is given to me at 8.1 hours a day instead of 12- so when I take leave I lose nearly 4 hours a day.
Employers will always interpret legislation to give their workers the worst deal.

working 16 and a half hours a day?!! I think that's too much!! I have once tried that way back in my OJT or on the job training (apprenticeship).. I am a scholar and I am supposed to double the regular hours I am working to pay the government for the scholarship. Instead of working for four months, that is 8 hours a day, I worked for only 2 months, that is 16 hours a day. That was really VERY TIRING! but it's okay. past is past. hehe.

Following our recent chat on hours, I found myself stuffed by my employer this morning. They had gotten the rota wrong and there was nobody set to relieve me this morning. Found myself working 16 1/2 hours, and back tonight. Sure, I could have used legislation to prevent an early return tonight, but that would have only upset the lady who drove 120 miles so that I could have gone home at all: and my bosses knew that. Another entry in the diary for the inevitable industrial tribunal one day, I guess!

It is nice to hear from you that there is this kind of job at home were you earn a decent income. I wish I too could find something like that to compensate my nightlife more with my computer. Anyway, as you work with your quota of the day, don't forget that you have friends waiting for you in the myLot kingdom, always.

Hi atente: I think that, in my case I have chosen a good online job. I received $75 but I don't spend all my day on this jobs, just a few hours and that's ok because I can go and do the things I love, like, for example, participating here on mylot ^^. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

I have had this same problem with various different jobs I have had through my life and I guess I always managed to go with the flow. At first, I would get a little angry because I had not been told of long hours at my interview, but then I would just take what I got, and kept a keen eye out of another job. I don't think bosses like this get good employee loyalty, we all deserve to know the truth of a situation to make an informed decision on a job. We are not machines that keep working hard for indefinite hours, we need to have at lease an idea of when we are going to finish, then we can relax our mind and just get on with the job in hand. _Derek

I couldn't agree more! They really have to consider that we are humans and we need to take rest. But in my case, I just realized that my boss isn't that bad. When he learned that I work more than 8 hours, he asked me to avoid from doing such thing and take a rest. I think I just have to be used with my job so I can hit the quota within 8 hours. hehehe. be blessed Derek! :)

So you are getting paid a salary, right? You need to talk to him about this. And I don't think 300 dollars a month is very much for the obvious amount of work you have to do for him. If you are really happy with the amount of money you are getting I would ask him for twice that and get someone to help you.

Well, it is good that you can see that. Try to learn some double tasking skills and that will help you alot. Good luck!

I am also working home base and most of the time I am working more than 8 hours. Things have just been busy with lots of deadlines and all. The only good thing about working more than 8 hours is the overtime pay. Thats why after a stressful project I usually go on a long vacation to reward myself.

That is very nice of you. You have been working at home and you can have much time for a vacation. That is one of the advantages of working online and at home.

Nope. I have a very nice boss. I only work for more than 8 hours if it is really necessary. But I still get paid for my overtime work. I agree with you that your income is okay. But you should also consider the intangibles like your health, your life outside your work, love life, etc. If you think the pay is still worth it after considering those things then go on.

Hi jugge rogre: I agree with you, our health must be our first priority. I know, money it's very important but without our health we can't enjoy any amount of money. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

8 hours may seem a full day and more than enough, but really for many people 8 hours a day work is heaven, simply because these people usually work for more than 12 hours a day, my parents used to work for more than 12 hours a day and I know how much hard work that is, and am really grateful for what they did just to make sure food was on the table for us kids...

Hi bellapop! wow! working for 12 hours a day isn't that easy, knowing that they do that daily! Good to hear your parents are very hardworking! :) 8 hours a day is the regular time right, so I think working for more than 8 hours deserves higher salary. be blessed bella! :)

Are you a Data Entry clerk by choice or compulsion. I mean, are you into that job because of recession and you need something to keep the fires burning? Otherwise you must try and get into a better paying job sooner than later.

Attente, will say you are doing quite good and happy for yourself but here I must let you know $200 isn't so much and would not even be ok for a week.
Thank you for posting though you could only help people from your country as those sites mostly allowed job search for localized members. It's gong to be difficult to get on the site as non-filipina.

15 hours is just a little too much. Just make sure your boss ain't making you work more than what you are paid for.
As of me, I still am looking for some kind of Data Entry Job. Any recommendations ?

Since you are earning $300 and you remained on ur job, despite of having a demanding boss, it only means you are still happy with what you are doing. Earning $300 a month is a good deal for you.

You can't work yourself so much that it effects your health. Stessing over an unreasonable deadline has to have an effect on it. Is there anyway you can get your boss to extend the deadline? Figure out what you are making per hour with the monthly wage and see if you can't do better than that with another company. I know work is hard to come by but it's still not worth your health.

Hi denise! I'm okay now. I'm getting used to my job, I can work 8-11 hours, not bad right!? heheh. I worked for 15 hours on my first day because I got confused on his instructions and he got mad when he realized that I didn't get his point, lols.. But he's okay now.. hehe. be blessed friend! :)
