dealing with teenage problems and insecurities

all of us have insecurities in our lives at one point or another. but teens have a different set of problems that adults usually treat or see as shallow. my son has a birthmark on the side of his face, a small one but noticeable. lately, he easily loses his temper with his brothers. so i had a small talk with him and found out that his friends has been teasing him about it and that it irritates him to the point that he himself thinks of his birthmark as a defect or flaw. the teasing has probably affected his self-confidence. if you had a teenager, how would you deal with a problem similar to this to boost his confidence again. please let me know your views and opinions. thanks!!
