3D videos and animations are not new in our technology and in the media stream. We have witnessed such invention do its miracle on movies mostly Hollywood or animations like those made by Disney or Pixar Production. Cool isn't it. But what I'm amazed about is the fact that this same kind of videos will be used to cover our new Presidents inauguration to be held tomorrow.
I've just heard a while ago over dinner that GMA 7 will be using 3D camera/s and video/s from Panasonic. This 3D coverage of a President's inauguration according to the news (24 Oras) would be the first throughout the world. That is why most of the family of the president and vice president Binay as well as their staff and supporters are excited to see the result of the coverage. The GMA staff say they would inform the public of the schedule or date of the telecast of the said Inauguration coverage.
I myself would want to see this if it would have the same effect as the movies. :) What would you say about this news, would you rather see this than the usual coverage using a traditional lens used by media men? But don't get me wrong, aside from the excitement brought about by this new enhance product of technology, what's most important about tomorrow is the inauguration of our new President and Vice President, may their term be fruitful and beneficial most especially to all Filipinos. :)

I don't really think this "technology" would be something to look forward to. I reckon this type of veiwing needs 3D glasses? Or have they switched to HDTV? I'm not really that convinced since they already lied before during their coverage of the recent election when they said they were using "holograms" when in fact it wasn't. That really dropped their credibility rating from dirt to maggots.

I believe what matters is honest and truthful reporting. not to mention and most importantly they have to be neutral and does not supposed to take sides of any other candidate because that would cause their credibility as journalist and reporters. am glad that GMA has live up to people's expectations in not showing any bias during elections, at least that is something to look forward to.

To be honest, I don't really care. Why? During the elections, they also used this new teachnology I cannot remember what is called =P We're claiming we're the first with this and that yet this I have to ask. Who invented 3D? It seems like we're just copycats. What we see on CNN and other networks, we COPY. They even failed at copying that technology they used during the elections. Silly me, I can't remember what it's called. The anchor is like talking to the field reporter for real just like they're face to face.
Anyway, you're definitely right. The most important thing is that we have a new President to be inaugurated tomorrow and we will be looking up at him. We must do our parts as citizens. And, he should do his part as the leader of a, hopefully, changing-for-the-better nation.
I'll be watching the event tomorrow =)

Yes, at some point I agree with you. I haven't totally seen what they did in the elections or what sort of hi-tech machines they've used as gimmicks to attract viewers, but I think to call us copycats is kinda harsh. Yes, we might have adopted their kind of technology, it is because this is what the trend somehow asked us to do. We must go with the trend or else we would be left out. And in my opinion we can't invent such innovations that we could be proud of, not because we don't have the skills or we're dumbed it is because we don't have enoungh financial resources that is very valuable in coming up with this kinds of technological inventions.
On the other hand, I'm glad that we're on the same foot in terms of hoping for our country to rise in the dump the former administration put us into. So now, let us put in mind and in our heart to help our new set of leaders for a better Philippines. :)

The viewers benefit from the competition between networks. TV networks will come up with new and better technology to enhance TV viewing. But then, the bottomline is still the content and not the gimmicks. Let us watch out who does the better coverage of this important event in our history.
I don't think it will make much difference to me whether or not it is done in 3D or not because to enjoy the 3D effect, it should be viewed with 3D glasses which I do not have nor have any plans of making or buying.

I don't care,
As long as the GMA 7 Coverage in my place is good. i noticed that when ever news time strikes, the channel would have signal disruptions. i think i might email both gma 7 and tv5 regarding this matter since i am forced to watch that ABIAS crap CBN regarding news and programs. to be honest I'd rather watch GMA 7 than any other channel besides tv5 or cable channels.

Oh, i see you have a lot of grudge within you, ABiaS CBN must have done something (awful) that stirred your being. Just relax, if you have such view then why still force yourself to watch their programs (news). Don't worry I'll try to say a little prayer so that the GMA channel tomorrow would not be disrupted. But if in case it happened again and the reception gone wild during the news, then maybe pursuing your idea of writing them would be a great solution, that is if they would entertain your query. So now let's be hopeful that you could watch news from your fave channel (which doesn't report a biased and flawed news) nicely. Have a great night. :)

I don't think they can do that. I don't what kind of 3d they are talking about. To achieve a 3D videos needs a lot of cameras. There should be cameras in left, right to or possible the bottom in order to see Noy2x's balls.
On what I have seen in the news, journalist are only in the on side of the granstand.
Two of the biggest network are competing about the new technology used in the 2010 election (hologram or virtual screen)and its no that really good. But I really appreciated on the big touch screen used by ABS-CBN.
But still I will watch the inauguration tommorow. But I will watch the network who have a good tv reception.
