I think that Japan did themselves proud. They did well to get through their group which they were not expected to. It is always a hard way to get knocked out but at least they were not beat in normal time.

Sadly that is the end of the Asian challenge in the world cup. Both Japan and South Korea have impressed me and there is no shame in the way either went out of the world cup. Penalty shoot outs are really a lottery and any team can win. Komano struck the ball to powerfully. I was impressed with the calmness of the paraguayan players when they took the penalties. Also even during the extra time, they were always smiling which is great to see at such a high level where players are enjoying themselves. That is the right way to play.
Anyhow tough luck for Japan, you have gone out with heads held high!!
Cheers!

Cruel end for Japan. Like the commentators said, someone will be a hero and another will be a villain. Sad to say, the villain would be a Japanese. While I have been surprised by the South Americans, I would like to see an Asian team goes into the quarter final. That would be a good mix.
