Yes I have heard of this... My Mum actually did it, and did lose lots of weight. It is known as the Cabbage Soup Diet. It is basically a vegetable soup. I have the link for you here to check it out. It will tell you all about it, the recipe to make it, and the 7 day plan to lose 10lbs.

It is important to remember that if you do a diet like this, then you need to eat sensibly afterwards, because losing a lot of weight in a short time, can actually make it easier to put the weight back on quicker after you have done the diet.
Hope this helps

I'm sure it can potentially work, but if you are only eating soup, one can also say that it could also be very unhealthy for you. I would aim for a low sodium soup, to help you stay hydrated during work outs. It may be the soup that is making people sweat a lot and in turn they are probably only losing water weight, which basically doesn't really matter because it goes back on when you drink more water =/ I would say just cut the greasy food, sugars, and excess carbs. Eating an hour before you go in from what i hear gives you energy to work out longer, and burn more calories. Just eat protein before, and a small amount after to help the body recover.

Hello, Buccaneer. I think you mean the Cabbage Soup Diet. I use the new cabbage soup diet, which allows you to eat other things, as well as the soup, and I've modified it slightly, with my doctor's approval. I have health issues, so I need more protein than the diet allows.
Being a man, I'm sure my version of the diet would work for you. I've lost up to 10lbs in a week, and I follow it for one week in 4. The good thing is, the diet speeds the metabolism, so if you eat sensibly in between, you'll continue to lose weight. Here's the link:

It’s a good idea to have an idea of the calories that most food items have. If it is a packed thing then the label is sure to have the calories that the substance has.

The soup diet is based on a fat-burning soup that contains negligible calories. The more soup you eat, the more weight you should lose. It allows people to eat as much soup as they want each day, which should sound appealing to dieters. After all, dieters love to hear that they can eat unlimited amounts of food and still lose weight fast.
