Being a Gypsy

There are times I find myself wishing that I wasn't such a gypsy
In lonely moments when the walls echo in the silence
Then it bites again, the wanderlust
And who would share this existence?
A year or two here, a month or two there,
Then seeking to see what lies beyond the horizon, never truly home.
Yet, if asked, I would never trade this life
For all the world holds dear!
Let others live their lives vicariously
Through TV, books and movies.
I seek firsthand knowledge!
And, when time is done,
'Tis I, the gypsy, who will have lived
A full, full life!
For I live what others only dream!
I wrote this poem several years ago. It continues to be one of my favorites of all my poems. It was at a time when I was coming to terms with the way my life had turned out...my singleness, my inability to stay in one place for very long.
I had a teacher once tell me that it has been said that, "Poets should be placed under arrest for indecent exposure...of the soul." Do you have a special poem that speaks deeply to your soul? What is it and why?

To talk to?
If you do not want to hear me
Running alway solves nithing now...
But do not cry
If you want to leave
Sometimes the distance helps
And this storm
One day will end...
Just want to remind you
When we
Walked in the stars
At times beautiful
We spent together...
We just wanted to love and love
And today I'm sure
Our story does not
It ands now
And this storm
One day will end...
When the rain pass
When the time open
Open the window
And look: I am the sun...
I'm the sky and sea
I'm yours and order
And my love is immense.

Yes, that is the way I would like to do it and did while my mother was alive but I have no one who is my home now and have never been able to afford to travel for fun. Vacation? What is that? heeheeheeee (furby laugh)
