Hello,
I was watching Hell's kitchen with Chef Ramsey and let me say that Ramsey is always mad and swearing towards the cooks. I was wondering, is that show made up like that? Does Ramsey have a scenario and during each shows he must be nasty to the participants? How can a competitor survive and tolerate such vulgar insults by the Chef ? Well, I would never tolerate that. If it is a scenario and the sous-chefs are trained to play their roles and receive such terrible comments, well I don't understand how can somebody tolerates that. Even though it's for a game show, money or prize at the end, no one should be treated like that. I just watched a show tonight, Ramsey was out of control as usual acting like an '' animal''. Probably he must act like that, I wonder if he is ashamed to play that kind of role for television.
Well, for some reason, they made many seasons, so they have lots of viewers. I find the show funny because the cooks tolerate nasty behavior from Ramsey and with the other contestants. I am wondering how can someone ruin a simple dish like eggs or was that also written in a scenario ? Anyways, I am curious to know opinions about Hell's Kitchen and if someone watch it sometimes.
Bye.

I have seen this before too, but I stopped watching it because Gordon Ramsey is so rude and nasty! It annoys me when he is swearing all the time and being so nasty to people. I think there is no need for it. I have heard him interviewed and he can be pleasant, but I think he is very exacting and precise and expects everyone at work to be the same, so he gets angry if things go wrong. But I think this is no good reason for being abusive!

Yes, I guess he has a "persona" now so plays to that role as it is what has made him famous and rich!

HI,
I like watching Hell's Kitchen too. It is because the chef, Chef Ramsey has an attitude which is out of this world. I also wonder how on earth can a normal person tolerate the chef's attitude if he is acting like that all the time with his students. I am not a person who likes nasty words and I will definitely not register myself to learn under him.
Maybe Chef Ramsey is doing it just for the sake of the show so that it is able to collect a high rating. Nowadays there are a lot of tactics being done to attract the most viewers. Overall, when I think about it again, the weird presentation of Hell's Kitchen that makes me want to watch it again. So, Chef Ramsey has succeeded in plotting a theme for his show even though he has to sacrifice some of his moral values.

Hello,
Even though I am against such TV reality show, and especially with a bad manner chef, I do sometimes watch Hell's Kitchen just for curiosity. I wonder if Chef Ramsey has a good healthy heart, because sometimes he is so mad, that he will get a stroke. That kind of behavior should not be tolerated for TV. It is bad and unhealthy. But, they are continuing to air this show thanks to all the viewers. But I do think that all of that is from a written script and every contestants including Ramsey must play a role and add some nasty behavior.
When he treats people all sort of names, he doesn't know to respect them. I think that is against someones dignity.

Hi,
He is more than crazy, he is just pathetic. WEll, it could be a written scenario and must play his game against the contestants. They other day, Ramsey was having a fight with a customer and they were exchanging vulgar insults and it was terrible to watch. I mean for the viewer, that has no point at all..is it real or just an act? Anyway, this show is on for a few years now and I wonder how long will the show continue to air.

I don't watch the show. I find it really boring. I think that the only reason people do watch it is because Ramsey is really harsh towards the other chefs. That type of behavior catches people's attention. It's the same with Judge Judy and Simon from American Idol.
I believe that he is supposed to be that way. I don't think the show is really scripted though. I think that when they mess up something they're cooking, they just messed up. I don't think that that is what they were supposed to do. I guess it could be though. I don't really know.

Hello,
I agree that his behavior makes more viewers. In fact, the show has been on air for a couple of years now, so people continue to watch that show. One of these days, he will have stroke or a heart attack, because he gets so nasty and almost violent toward the chefs. As for their cooking, well maybe they are trained that way and the producers want them to scrap their cooking sometimes to make Ramsey mad and get more viewers. Otherwise, the show has no chance to stay On. It should not stay on air any longer or Ramsey should change the way he acts. He will suffer a stroke one of these days. I don't understand why people apply for this show, I guess they want the full prize. Well, they should go to cooking school first and gain experience before having a huge restaurent and that takes couple years. The winner that wins the restaurent prize at the end, does he or she have full experience for the job after? Who knows.

Hell's Kitchen is one of my favourite programs but I do get annoyed at Ramsey's often tantrum-like behaviour. While I agree that he is paid a lot of money to act in an atrocious manner, I still can't help but feel that he regularly crosses the line of decency. After all, it's one thing to yell at a contestant because they can't boil an egg; however, it's a completely different matter when he criticises/abuses them because of their weight or their height or their looks.
Ramsey uses tactics similar to a schoolyard bully and expects to earn respect whilst rarely having to show it. Sadly, that seems to be the appeal of the show; and I doubt that it would have the popularity that it does if Ramsey started utilising positive reinforcement.

I don't watch the show, but I've seen clips here and there. And I feel like he must be faking all of his anger because it's ridiculous, because he really is always angry. And I'm pretty sure they have him play up his anger for the camera so they'll get more ratings. I mean, if he wasn't a jerk all the time, I don't think people would continue to watch the show. I think a lot of reality TV is fake or at least...The producers encourage the people to act a certain way, or they try to start things so the people on camera will get riled up. And I agree with you, I don't think I'd take that crap Ramsey says to people.

I've seen several episodes where he is a tyrant in the kitchen but great to get along with outside the restaurant. I think it's all mostly reality but he takes the competition VERY seriously. I do think some of the backstage stuff in the dorms and the ppl competing are kind of hyped up but I think that is the real Ramsey...at least in the kitchen. Some ppl are really passionate about what they love.
