what are the minimum requirements to have a BDO, BPI or unionbank savings account? thanks! and what is the the difference of savings and checking account? do both have the capability of having a debit card?

I think the minimum balance nowadays is Php2000.00 as I have my BDO account but I don't know with other banks. I also have EON which I used to link with paypal. I guess only savings has the capability of having a debit card.

If what you're really after at is a debit card where you could use PayPal for it, I recommend Unionbank's debit card. You don't need to have a maintaining balance. It could go zero and still your account is open. You only pay Php350 for visa annual fee.
