Marijuana does kill. It happened in Pittsburgh.

A young mother had her two little kids in a stroller and was taking them for a walk. She started to cross the street, and a car ran a stop sign and hit her and the kids. The stroller flew out further in the road, wheels coming off, but since the kids were straped in, they just got a few bruises.
Unfortunately, the mom was not so lucky..she received severe head unjuries and later died at the hospital.
The 20-year old guy who was driving the car has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substanace...in this case, marijuana.
So a woman is dead and two little kids have no mom all because some guy decided to get high and go for a ride. Yet people want to legalize this stuff.
Don't we have enough problems with legal alcohol without adding pot to the mix? What would be next--cocaine?

Hi Lacieice,
I know what you are trying to say here and in part I agree. It is dangerous for anyone to be driving under the influence of anything at all. Still I fail to see how legalizing this or not legalizing it will do anything to make the situation either better or worse.

Hi sid...thanks for responding. I feel that if it is legalized and the criminal part is taken away, those who don't use it now for fear of breaking the law will then feel free to indulge with no penalities. In that way, use would increase.

I too fail to see how it will make any difference, except people who indulge in "weed" aren't really up for driving anywhere. They usually stay in a favorite spot and smoke, make love and eat from the munchies and sleep. The last thing they want to do is drive a vehicle.
I agree there should be laws in place for those driving under the influence of cannabis. In America I believe there are in most states. It is covered under driving while intoxicatated which covers a variety of substances.

This was probably a case of a damm fool who should not have been driving regardless I bet the weed had nothing to do with it. It was his own reckless and crazy self. Had he been drinking also, taking PCP or some other.
