I was on Gather posting articles and blurps and I have a couple of friends. Anyway, the settings are set to let me know when they post anything or comment on anything. I follow what they do, which leads me to more articles and discussions. I feel a little funny doing what these other people are doing, but the good news is, they are doing the same with me. I have commented on things and I notice that they come along later and comment. I guess it is all good. LOL Do you feel uncomfortable following people and commenting on what they are commenting on? I feel like I am a stalker or something. LOL

Obviously you have never noticed me stalk you, Any, or Scheng on myLot, lol! Not only should you comment in the same discussions as your friends you should comment to their comments so they know you were there!

LOL. I stalk them and you. Although, since scheng has gotten bugs guarding her and chopsticks for me, there is no way I'm going anywhere near there. LOL I guess it's true that is what you need to do, but I am doing it a lot because I wanted to see how long it would take to get to the ten dollars. I am still at 22 points. 600 more to go!

MommaJ, I forgot to mention that you should join the group called Gather Giveaways. They frequently have discussions where they choose people who comment to win prizes or point, I won one 2 weeks ago for 50 points, They had 2 of those contests today alone, They always have them in the Moms section!

Hello i am not there in Gather but only here, i have lot of works to do in connection with my research etc, here i comment on response to my posts, i enjoy doing that ..

I think the issue here is that "well" is relative. For us, the few pennies a day we earn are hardly worth the time. For some others in other countries the money goes farther.

Actually on Gather, people expect you to 'return the favor' when they comment on your stuff. It's almost rude if you don't...far from being a stalker! All page views are good!

Well, you have nothng to lose by posting your articles on Gather. And at least you will get some points, and a free gift card or cash eventually. It took me awhile before I got the hang of any of the sites I write with. Some things never take. The Examiner never wored for me. I would post articles and then just nothing, so I do know how you feel.

LOL. I don't know if they are commenting on my stuff or not. I was just trying to see how many points I could get. LOL I don't think it was enough to warrant quiting my day job. Oh, wait, I don't have one of those. LOL Guess I better go find one. HEHEHE.
Actually I am doing pretty good with AC, but I have been seeing everybodies posts about backlinking and getting page views from the different sites, so I decided to put some stuff on Gather hoping to get more page views on AC and Examiner. I don't think it is working but at least I can say I tried. LOL

I am trying to post a couple. At least with Examiner I will make payout in four or five months. I make a couple of dollars in pv every month. With the implementation of the $1 per article up to five a week, I might be able to make a couple dollars a week. With page views I figure a $25 payout can be reached in about 4 or 5 months because I can't seem to post five articles a week to examiner. You would think with all the articles I write it wouldn't be a problem. LOL Of course, with summer I am not doing much writing.

Even the first day you add them. You don't really know them. You are just trying to network. I guess that is really what we are doing is networking. I know they don't mind and I don't either, it's just weird I guess because I was never on a networking site for the purpose of following someone to find stuff.
